Morning Sickness

Hey everyone!

Just a bit of background - pregnant with my first baby at 5+5 and no sickness at all yet.

Both mum and sister had it really badly almost as soon as they got their positive so I've got myself into a bit of a panic about it all. read online that you normally take after your mums side In that respect and then saw somewhere that sickness reduces the changes of miscarriage?

Basically, just wondering if any mums out there had a healthy pregnancy with either sickness (or not) but that was different to what their mum experienced? Xxx

Hiii. I'm the total opposite, my mum and sister never had any sickness or nausea and had 4 healthy pregnancies between them. I am horrrribly nauseous 24/7 😔

I also have a few friends who never suffered with any sickness so I don't think it's something to worry about 😊

I have three children and never had morning sickness. I had some nausea on my first from weeks 6 to 8 that would last an hour or so in the morning. It's a myth that the sicker you are the healthier the baby will be. All my babies weighed over 10lbs (born by c section) and all thrived.

@VAM24 @IndieRo

Thanks both for sharing your experiences and sorry you're feeling unwell with it!!

I know it's crazy to 'want' to feel sick it's just I think when people you are close to had the same experience then you don't it can be worrying!

Really good to know that you had different experiences to your mum / friends and still had healthy babies!! Thank you xxx

I'm currently 11+6 weeks and still waiting for some morning sickness!

Going for my dating scan later today so I'll find out if everything's ok then I guess 😬

I’m only 24 weeks but everything is healthy and I have been very sick!
My mum didn’t have morning sickness on any of her three pregnancies, my sister had it on her three but it ended around the 12-16 week mark.
My sickness hasn’t stopped yet!! But it’s definitely slowing down.

TTCgee · 18/06/2020 08:44

@passthemustard good luck! Hope everything goes well today xxxx

Hi :)

I'm so nauseous it's ridiculous, I couldn't function from 3pm yesterday at all I'm struggling to eat and the thought of ANY food or drink sends me over the edge! I ended up coming to bed at 5pm and still currently lying here because I have no energy to get up! I'm back in work tomorrow god know how I'm going to manage feeling like this! I haven't actually been sick at all but nauseous all day everyday at the min... how long does this last 😢

1300cakes · 18/06/2020 08:51

You are only 5+5! I suffered terribly with morning sickness and it started at 5+6, but for most people it starts later, at 6-7 weeks. So there is still time for you unfortunately. Of course hopefully you won't have any and will sail through Smile

Ukbentley · 28/06/2020 21:40

I'm 12 weeks today and starting being sick at 6 weeks and I have tried everything hospital put me on medication didn't work so tried other tablets worked for one day and then it made the sickness worse, today is the first day I've not been sick I did not take the tablets but bought some decaffinated green tea just as I have went off everything but water and fancied it and I feel perfect when I felt sick I drank a cup of it and it took it away straight away, this is my second pregnancy and my first I didn't really suffer from morning sickness and I had a girl every midwife I have talked to said they think it's a different gender because I never had with first but who knows, glad to have a break from it today as I have felt like death for six weeks and tried everything

RaN88 · 28/06/2020 21:59

Mine started at 6 weeks and finished at about 10 when the food aversions disappeared too. My pregnancy has been nothing like my Mums nor my Nans and probably nothing like my next one either! Try not to compare notes and just relax. Congratulations!

@TTCgee I’m just over half way through my first pregnancy. Mum has no sickness or nausea with any of her pregnancies but I had loads of sickness early on. My nausea started maybe round about week 7/8 but I didn’t actually start being sick until a couple of weeks later. So there’s still plenty of time for it to start yet 😊

Coopslove · 29/06/2020 07:24

I have been nauseous since about 4 weeks, currently 7 weeks. It’s horrendous, only been sick a couple of times but nauseous all day. I can barely eat or drink anything and the smell of food is disgusting. I had a MMC last year so taking this as a good sign but I can barely function
