Positive Test at least 10 weeks

Hello

Any advice so welcome!

I was feeling so sick this evening and did a test - positive!

I have had 6 months of irregular periods and have no idea when I fell pregnant as I had a bleed 4 weeks ago but haven't had any unprotected sex for over 7 weeks and the period before that takes me to 10 weeks.,,

After convincing myself and my husband it was a false positive I raided my drawers and found more tests - 3 more late night instant positives has made me think I'm pretty sure!

What do I do now

I know I've had a bleed - significant enough I thought it a light period ... and have no idea how pregnant I am...

I have put on weight and have put it down to lockdown!

Anyone found out late in pregnancy?

My gut instinct is I was to be scanned at the assessment unit ASAP as I've had a bleed and have no idea how pregnant I am .,,,

I have a little boy who is 18 months and I'm still breastfeeding him

Any advice?

Morning Hun, why don't you call your GP with what you've just explained - where I am they scan from 12-13 weeks. I know this sounds naughty but could you make a white lie & say working out my dates from my last period I think I'm atleast 12 weeks pregnant! But still unsure! What do I do? Hopefully they might refer you for a scan - atleast you can find out what's going on inside with the little bean! And hopefully get an idea of how far along you are! Or secondly maybe try and book and early reassurance scan at a private clinic?! Xx

BabyG123 · 17/06/2020 07:44

Agree with @BBB18 unless you want to go private and could get in earlier?

Congrats

Soulstirring · 17/06/2020 07:45

I’m sure the GP will arrange a scan. Congratulations though, hope it’s a happy surprise x

jess348 · 17/06/2020 07:45

@BBB18 yes I think I'll ring GP at 8 when they open - even if not 12 weeks yet I am going to ask for a referral to the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit as I know the last bleed I has wasn't a period... so a bleed that significant will warrant an early scan anyway to check everything is ok...

My head is all over the place!

You can book private scans with very little notice for about £60 - an option if u want something today/tomorrow.

Also call ur docs and get an appointment with the MW - they will book u in for a 12w in a couple of weeks (if u assume ur light period was implantation). Did u bleed with ur last one?

It could also be twins!!!

jess348 · 17/06/2020 08:16

Twins?

@sunlight81 what makes you say that?

I'm just waiting on a GP to call me back!

It's very happy news but just trying to stay calm until I know that everything's ok

They do say your likely to bleed with twins! Although I'm 16 weeks expecting twins and touch wood have had no bleeding what so ever. It is common in twin pregnancy though. Good luck with the gp call let us know how you get on 😘

sunlight81 · 17/06/2020 08:33

@jess348 I'm pregnant with twins and I got very strong positive tests early on. Two babies two lots of hormone.

I'm sure u won't be that unlucky!!

BabyG123 · 17/06/2020 08:47

@jess348 they aren't offering early scans at my local epu at all due to covid. Only
Blood tests every 48 hours at doctors

maria2bela · 17/06/2020 09:05

Book an early scan, a lot of them do them from 6 weeks. At least you'll have some idea of how far along you are.

Kelcat9494 · 17/06/2020 12:34

Just wanted to say I got very strong positives very early on and there's only one baby in there haha

BBB18 · 17/06/2020 13:36

Hey hun did you have any luck getting a scan? X

jess348 · 17/06/2020 14:29

I've been given an appointment at the EPAU tomorrow for a scan at 4pm - I managed to get the GP to refer me!

Thanks for all your messages!
