Hi
I’m 18 weeks 4 days pregnant and wondering if anyone is experiencing the same as me to see if it’s normal as I’m getting a bit worried.

Throughout first trimester my breasts were quite tender and sore to touch, however for the last couple of weeks or so I’ve been getting excruciating pain in both breasts that lasts for a couple of minutes at a time! It’s not constant all the time but it comes and goes and when it comes it’s really really sore. Honestly can’t even explain the pain but it’s more than them being tender to touch! It’s agony. I’m starting to get a bit worried it’s my chest or something more than pregnancy related boob pain!

Any help or experiences would be very welcome!

Mine were really bloody sore during pregnancy, I wouldn't worry too much and maybe try hot water bottles or maybe warm damp cloths on them? If the pain is unbearable then contact your midwife but I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Also as it's in both I would think it's pregnancy related so don't go panicking at the results google might give you for breast pain!

It's called vasospasm and it bloody hurts. I remember it being triggered by change of temperature. No worries though it's just blood vessels in the nips being weird.

Oh how we laugh about it now! I wasn't laughing then.

Thank you both for replies! Temperature thing kind of makes sense as I thought that was it at the start but noticed it more now even when in house just. Oh I’m deffo not laughing atm lol it’s absolute agony when it happens! I’ve been noticing it today it’s a lot more in my left one! Honestly can’t cope with the pain I don’t know how I’ll do labour lol!

I remember being stood outside Woolies just before Christmas and completely unable to move. It settled down after that. DS2 was born May.

DS1 was also a May baby but I don't remember it happening with him.

Labour was easier as you know what's happening and it gradually ramps up - compared to sudden alien nipple tweaking for no reason.

Ah I’m glad I clicked on this..I had this two nights ago in my left breast, it woke me up and was so so painful! It was like I was being stabbed! Then it went after a few minutes and the next day it happened in the other one! It was such a weird and painful feeling! Because it was in both breasts I just assumed it was pregnancy and got on with it haha.
