Hi everyone,

I am eight weeks pregnant and have been taking the liquid Pregnacare multivitamins. I can’t bare the smell of it anymore to the point it makes me sick, and I am convinced it is making my morning sickness worse. Does anyone have any other liquid vitamin recommendations- mainly folic acid and vit d. I really struggle to swallow pills.

You only need folic acid in the first 27 days after conception so any amount taken after that - and you are well beyond that point - is useless. Acid folic is the synthetic version of folates which you can and should get from leafy greens
You can buy vitamin d in spray.

So ditch the vitamins that are making you sick, eat a lot of greens and buy a bit d spray.

You really shouldn't be taking vitamins on an empty stomach so if I were you I'd have them after an evening meal, that way you'll feel less sick. You can also have something nice to eat immediately afterwards to take the taste away!

The current advice is to make sure you take folic acid for the first 12 weeks so please make sure you do. It really can make an enormous difference in preventing neutral rice defects in baby.
