Hi Ladies

I have been bleeding for about 2 weeks when I went to the docs who did a pregnancy test and confirmed its positive, my hcg levels were rising. However on Friday, after they couldn't see anything on the ultrasound (I was around 4 weeks then) got home I was bleeding really heavy, blood pouring and passed 5-6 big clots. Bleeding turned to spotting after a few hours and i did a blood test the next day which confirmed my levels went from 7300 to 4500. I repeated the blood test yesterday levels rose slightly to 4800.

I did another internal scan, which the docs are saying theres a mass on the neck of the womb around 2-3cm, could be pregnancy tissue or ectopic.

Offered 3 options - wait and see for few days if it will pass, injection to dissolve the tissue and the third is surgery.

Also my uterus is pretty much closed so they couldnt remove anything during the internal examination.

I am just so confused on what to do, I came across so many posts online where ladies describe how they bled heavily clots, convinced was a miscarriage, nothing on scan at 4-5 weeks, even booked procedures only to scan just before and hear a heartbeat!

Has anyone experienced anything similar and what was the outcome?

Many thanks šŸ’›

I had a similar experience except numbers continued to increase. Be aware though that I was told that 5,000 hcg is the absolute upper limit to be able to be given the methotrexate injection. I opted to try it and it didn't work and I ruptured from an ectopic pregnancy.

Also if they give you methotrexate you MUSNT try and get pregnant sooner than 3 months if it's one injection or 6 months if they give you 2 as the drug is particularly nasty and can do loads of damage to a new pregnancy if you don't wait for it to be out of your system

Thank you for your reply and sorry to hear that you went through that

Where was your ectopic pregnancy? Did they diagnose and locate it quickly?
