Hi everyone, I’ve just found out I am pregnant which is totally unexpected given a myriad of fertility issues on both sides and no help with them. We’re very happy and excited but also very nervous!

I need to pick a maternity unit to be referred to but as I’m going to be a complicated case (endo & adenomyosis, PCOS, over 35, BAME also an issue because of Covid) any insights on any of these hospitals would be really appreciated. I had a truly horrendous birth with my daughter nearly a couple of decades ago and the experience has never left me, which only adds to my hesitations!! I’m considering going for an elective caesarian.

Any info or experiences you can share will be really appreciated, thank you! 🤗

Congratulations! Not on your list but I’m at Kings and it’s been a great experience so far. I’m also high risk due to an autoimmune condition and they’ve been fantastic from the beginning arranging extra scans and consultant appointments. One of the main reasons I picked them is because of the enhanced 12 week scan. I’m late 30s so wanted a detailed scan early on and the option to have a harmony test if there were concerns. I haven’t given birth there so I can’t rate that but will be having an elective c section.

Amazing thanks, and so pleased it’s going well so far for you 🤞

I’ve registered with Queen Charlotte’s - ended up deciding between them and C&W. Hopefully I’ve made the right choice!

Also not on your list, and think it may be too far for you but I had my first at Kingston and they were incredible. Having my second there too.
