Hi Ladies, I'm on my first trimester 8 weeks pregnant. Just wanted to come on here to discuss how I'm feeling and if anybody else is on the same boat. I'm feeling very emotional nothibg tastes nice everything makes me gag feeling very unsettled and uncomfortable. I don't even feel like going work I just want my mum (sounds weird I know ) Any advice for any mother's on here who have been through the same thing ?

It won't last forever, I promise!
The first trimester is awful - I had horrendous sickness which peaked from weeks 7-11 and didn't go completely until 20 weeks. There were days when I asked if I'd done the right thing getting pregnant and was it even worth it.
I'm 31 weeks now and it does get better and it is worth it.

@sel2223 oh god ! Yesterday I had a melt down and today I just keep thinking is this for me and will I be able to do it Confused this is my first pregnancy and from labour stories to these symptoms everything is just scaring me at the minute! How are you ?

I was exactly the same OP - first pregnancy and I was so unbelievably tired, felt sick all the time, lost a stone due to no appetite, lethargic - the works!

I'm now 13 weeks and it's finally easing so it does get better ☺️ just eat what you can, when you can, and rest as much as possible

@Newbee123 I felt the same from weeks 5-11 or so, sickness (mainly at night) which meant I’d get a few mouthfuls through dinner and then feel like throwing up... I also had painful cramps and generally felt off. I also had loads of emotions thinking can I do this, am I making the right choice etc...? After 12 weeks, my symptoms definitely settled a lot and I generally feel ok now, so it will get better. I’m now 18+3, this is also my first baby and I’m also scared about labour and all sorts of other things!

@Newbee123 I felt like this too, I had really bad nausea from 6 to 13 weeks, I felt like it would never end and I remember laying on the sofa feeling guilty because I was thinking "what have I done?! I cant do this anymore"
BUT I promise it does get better, I'm 20 weeks now and starting to feel little kicks which is amazing. 1st trimester feels like it didnt happen.
You're 8 weeks so this is the worst bit but it wont be long before you're out of it. Hang in there!

So glad I'm not on my own ladies !
Thank you so much for the support. How is everyone feeling today? I have my first appointment today with the midwife but through the phone which is weird but I guess it's to keep everyone safe. And my Scan is in July I keep thinking they will scan me and I'm not even pregnant haha everything is just surreal at the minute and over whelming Blush

@Newbee123
I'm 20 weeks on wednesday and have my scan that day too, so I'm feeling a little nervous!
It sounds weird but when my symptoms went I felt lost (even though I moaned about them for weeks) between 14 and 18 weeks, I didnt feel pregnant at all! No sickness, more energy.... couldnt feel baby moving yet, but had a little bump, so it was just weird. Some days I kinda wanted my symptoms back so I knew I was still pregnant!
As for 12 week scan, I get you, I was so nervous for that, and having to be on my own too, I cannot tell you the relief when you see that little heartbeat and my baby was very wriggly too which surprised me.

Newbee123 · 15/06/2020 09:23

@biscuit13 wishing you all the best hun ! And I'm sure I'll be the same soon haha stay safe and good luck ! ❤️

I had the same fear at my first scan OP, I thought there would be nothing there. But then I saw our little one bouncing around and it was amazing ☺️
