Hi just wondering if any of you are going to the Baby show at The Olympia in London next weekend? I have already booked my tickets and am going on the last day, the sunday, hoping to pick up lots of freebies and new ideas. Maybe get to know about new stuff coming to the shops soon!

Ive got tickets, and thinking of going the Sunday. It's an excuse for me to get out of the house, and hopefully pick up some freebies that will be helpful

Have ordered tickets online but haven't got them yet. Probably go on Saturday.

Cool, althought thought there would be alot more than this going, unless alot are keeping quiet about it. Well lets hope it's as quiet there as this thread then more free stuff for us!!

I haven't got my tickets yet, but I'm definitely going on the Sunday. I'm taking my SIL to check out all the stuff as she's expecting her first in March and I want to get some prechristmas bargains for my three!

never heard of such a thing. is it like krufts for babies?

lydialemon · 13/10/2004 13:08

Prizes for sit, stay and eat?!

Check it out here if you're interested

How far would you drive to go to the show? They say it's a show that will see families come from ALL over the country... really?

hana · 13/10/2004 13:13

have been given some free tickets so will check it out. Wouldn't bother if I wasn't already so close however, these things are usually a nightmare!!

beansprout · 13/10/2004 13:18

I'm the other side of Shepherds Bush (in Harlesden) but I'm not going as I don't like these massive marketing fest things. Am not averse to free samples but don't like to feel like I am one big marketing opportunity for these huge companies. Plus I am about to pop so not a good idea anyway...

Mind you, I've been told that if you go into labour in Mothercare you get given a lot of stuff (??!!) so imagine if it happened at Olympia - I could be set up for life!!! Yeah, right!!!

lydialemon · 13/10/2004 13:18

There's two other shows, in Brum and Glasgow so maybe they are talking about all the shows rather than the London one? I live in South London so I don't travel far, my SIL is coming from near Tunbridge Wells, but thats because I've invited her . I don't think she would have trekked up here on her own.

lydialemon · 13/10/2004 13:20

beansprout - when I went last year I was 39+ weeks and I would have loved to have gone into labour there and freaked my BF out. BF and DH insisted I had a labour bag in the back of BFs car 'just in case'. Sadly I had to wait another 3 weeks for DD to make an appearance!

beansprout · 13/10/2004 13:29

L - I'm now 8 days over and life seems to be one big opportunity to freak people out.! People constantly ask when I am due (fair enough, I am bloody enormous) but when I tell them I'm overdue, their eyes widen a bit and they look a tad scared!

Perhaps I should ring Olympia and never mind the boast that they have "feeding facilities" (should think so too!!) but ask if they have "labour facilities"?!
