So my baby has no pattern lol he can be very excited at times and very quite at times so when do I actually worry about reduced movements!? Like hes been moving around all day but since last past 2 -3 hours hes been a bit quite but still has been moving I asked my midwife at last appointment and she said as long as hes moving here 1-2 hours it should be okay does that sound okay to you guys to? Anyone in similar situation as me?

Call the ante natal ward or delivery suite. They’ll get you in. That’s where I am now. Same situation as you. 31+4
They were really happy I had come in, I immediately and aahed for ages before calling but all is fine.

They’re open day and night

Yes all fine, typically wide awake and very lively as soon as they’d said the words “we’d like to admit you overnight”

Hey, I gave birth on Wednesday and my baby had no pattern what's so ever. I went in with reduced movements almost weekly from 25 weeks. They were always happy to see me and happy for me to go with any concerns. I'd just go if it's bothering you. I rang once upset and scared but felt the baby whilst on the phone. Still went in as is got so concerned. I ended up scheduling weekly monitoring for the last 4 weeks of pregnancy which helped tremendously

I had 7 episodes of RFM the first time and 3 the second time- I went into hospital for every single one. Both ended up being ECS. Don't risk anything. No one will laugh you out of hospital for being scared/worried about the health of your unborn child.

Ps. Don't forget babies have a sleep-wake cycle just like us- it's just that their timings are so varied. If you're worried at any point though, don't delay and go into hospital and get checked out.

I'm 34 weeks and my baby doesn't have much of a pattern which is so stressful. I wake up every morning in a complete panic because he's so still ALL night it seems. I wake up a lot in the night and he's never moving. Once I get up properly though and make a drink, he wakes up. And then tends to be pretty active all day with short rest periods.

I am now 29+3 and worrying about the same..my baby was super active and with strong movement for the past 2 weeks... and now although he still moves, its quite subtle.. not sure if I should be worried or not?

sel2223 · 14/06/2020 10:05

I'm 31+3 and haven't noticed a proper pattern yet either. I think the main thing for me is if I feel something every few hours then I'm happy.
You have to trust your gut a little bit when there's no real pattern.....if in any doubt, if something just doesn't feel right, always pick up the phone!

My midwife told me that babies, like us, can have days where they are a bit lazier or the position they are in might make kicks/movements less intense. She suggests that if you feel concerned about movement to go into a quiet room alone & lie down, talk to bump, feel bump for 30mins, if there’s still nothing have a cold/sugary drink & lie on your side for another 30mins. If you still don’t have movement after that then phone maternity assessment. I’ve found it’s a good formula to go by & when I’ve been worried & I’ve done that he tends to give some movement, I’ve probably just been too busy to notice his movements so taking that time out to concentrate on it does help
