Dead Arms / Carpal Tunnel

Hi thought I'd start a new thread for this
I'm nearly 24 weeks and the past few weeks I've been getting really bad dead arms and potential Carpal tunnel symptoms during the night and first awaking. It's becoming a pain as I cant grip anything for the first few hours and occasionally waking me up at night.

I'm aware it's due to excess weight and water during pregnancy, I have a pillow and it even hurts on the side I dont sleep on.

Has anyone got any tips to alleviate the pain?

The midwife recommended icing my wrists when I had this in my last pregnancy.

Can’t remember any tips, but I will say once my baby was born my symptoms completely disappeared xx

I spoke to my midwife about this and she referred me to a specialist ( who never got back to me so that was pointless ). I bought a wrist guard off amazon for £10 and it saved me . It didn’t take the pain away but I had enough feeling in my hands that I could write and type ( at one point I literally couldn’t do either it was so bad ).

I’m suffering from this and have for a while (I’m 33 weeks). I think we just have to ride it out until birth from what I’ve heard! I’ve tried squeezing a stress ball in the day but it hasn’t helped much and my hands and arms are mostly in pain at night 😫

Ooh @MichelleOR84 I’m going to look into that!

Aww thanks girls and for the tips, glad I'm not the only one and hopefully subside as soon as birth, only just over half way though!
