Positive Negative

Hi everyone

So I did a pregnancy test yesterday which came back positive, a little later I did another which came back negative. They were both different brands. What should I do/believe?

How many dpo are you? Have you missed a period yet?
Different tests look for different sensitivities of the hcg hormone so, if it's really early, it could just be that one is a more sensitive test.
If it came up straight away and is a coloured line then it sounds like a BFP. False negatives are far more common than false positives.

Period was due yesterday. I'm going to get another test today and check. Just nervous as I've lost 2 this last 8 months so don't want to get my hopes up even if it is positive

Sorry for your losses 💐 I felt the same getting my positive this time after loss last year, it's a nervous time. Did you use first morning urine for both tests? If not for second test that might be why it's negative, do might be worth doing a 4 hour hold before testing again later/or using fmu tomorrow. Pink dye tests like first response are much better imo. And as Sel says, false positives are incredibly rare so your first test BFP sounds most accurate!! Good luck x
