Just been for my nhs viability scan (history of ectopic & early miscarriage). Based on my LMP on 1st May I worked out to be 6 weeks today. Lady measured me at 5 weeks 0 days based on the size, but was shocked as there was a really strong visible heartbeat! Even a second Sonographer was called in as they had apparently never seen this so early before.

Now I’m panicking. Is my baby actually 6 weeks but too small? I guess I’m just wondering if anyone had experienced this before and what the outcome was with the dates?

It's so easy for the measurements to be out on early scans as they're literally measuring millimetres.
My first scan, i should have been 7+5 from LMP but baby only measured 6+1. She'd caught up a week by the dating scan and I'm now 31 weeks.
This is why the NHS only gives you an official due date after 11 weeks as it's really hard to measure accurately before then.
