Dry wall, chalky crumbly dry wall, but obviously I'd prefer it be actually edible? Grin
As soon as I hit the 30 week mark of each pregnancy I have overwhelming cravings for musty cement and the gritty texture. The smell of it sets it off too! It smells like it tastes amazing and drives me mad. On my third pregnancy and really trying not to cave in and bash the wall in, and I've another 10 weeks of it! (I never gave in with the others, but it did make me extremely miserable for last few weeks). Any ideas? Help!
(I should add, I don't have any vitamin deficiencies that my bloods have picked up, anyway)

Tums?

Bringmewineandcake · 11/06/2020 22:22

Love hearts

gracex4 · 11/06/2020 22:22

🤣🤣🤣U poor thing I used to eat talc & powder and crushed strong mints. What about the sticks of rock that's like chalk

Bluebooby · 11/06/2020 22:23

I don't know if you can still get these but I remember eating sweets that were white sticks. They were in a box. Kind of looked like chalk, and had a chalky texture. That's the closest thing I can think of.

gracex4 · 11/06/2020 22:25

Edinburgh rock it's called

@Bluebooby you mean candy sticks x

pastabest · 11/06/2020 22:27

I've got some really stale gluten free brownies I could lend you?

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 11/06/2020 22:28

It was bath sponges for me, from about 18 weeks each time. I once stood in Tesco smelling them all before choosing the one with the 'right' smell Blush. My Dh, friend & older dc all thought it was hilarious. What about Rennie? I don't find they have any flavour other than chalk.

eandz13 · 11/06/2020 22:35

@Bringmewineandcake I forgot about love hearts, I've not seen them for ages! That might work if I sniff the wall whilst eating them! Grin

@gracex4 I'll have to check on amazon for those, not sure where I'd buy them locally, I'll definitely give them a whirl

@BernardsarenotalwaysSaints from 18 weeks must have been awful! I'd definitely have caved in with mine if I had to suffer with it any longer. Sponges were my sisters strange pregnancy craving too, she casually gnawed on them often. I wonder what it is about them!

I also used to eat talc. Only a little bit, but at the end of both pregnancies I couldn’t resist. Even went so far as to source organic talc so that I could eat it 😂 but Rennies also hit the spot when I wanted to eat something chalky.

thetangleteaser · 11/06/2020 22:49

I had this but with dish washer tablets, I’d literally salivate at the though of eating them. It was torture, I tried everything, the only thing that mildly satisfied my craving were the chalky alphabet penny sweets😂

Tonz · 11/06/2020 22:52

Agree with pp Edinburgh rock is both crumbly and chalky

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 11/06/2020 22:54

It was a nightmare! I had one in my hospital bag each time too Grin Only certain ones were 'right' some were just too chemical smelling. My youngest is almost 3 now but the smell of a sponge still calms me down, I don't chew them anymore though.

FelicityPike · 11/06/2020 22:56

You should get your iron levels checked.
“Weird” cravings like this is called pica and can indicate a nutritional deficiency.
(Mine was twix bars....so I can’t talk).

BlueBooby · 11/06/2020 23:07

gracex4 yes candy sticks! Thank you, that was bugging me!

FreedaDonkey · 11/06/2020 23:09

I ate chalk during all my pregnancies and have recently started again - no idea why but it tastes so good Blush

FlyingLemur · 11/06/2020 23:10

Cheshire cheese?? Definitely chalky, crumbly and dry.

GinWithRosie · 11/06/2020 23:16

Ah man I love Edinburgh Rock! Not seen this for years and now I want some 🤦‍♀️ (I'm very not pregnant...this is sheer nostalgic gluttony!) @gracex4

ODFOx · 11/06/2020 23:20

Get some calcium supplement tablets from a health shop. They may not be what you are seeking but they are what your brain is trying to tell you.

gracex4 · 12/06/2020 08:32

@GinWithRosie I know I actually may internet buy 🐷🤣

CoalCraft · 12/06/2020 08:53

A pp suggesting those white candy sticks has brought back vivid memories of child me pretending to smoke then like cigarettes Grin

Love hearts are a good suggestion too, and maybe parma violets? You can get ones that are quite big.

GinWithRosie · 12/06/2020 09:13

@gracex4 me too..I’ve just been on Amazon 😂

LH1987 · 12/06/2020 09:38

Renies are basically chalk aren't they?
