8 week scan and movement

Today I had a scan, measured 8 weeks and 1 day but the baby didn't move, saw heartbeat and was nice and strong at 165bpm

Is this normal for them not to move? Can anyone else remember if they had a scan around 8 weeks and the baby moved or not?

@EllieJai44 they didn't move at my 8 week scan and had the 20 week one on Monday and he was wriggling lot.

8 week scan didnt move but saw heartbeat. 12 week scan was bouncing around all over the place! 20 week scan was moving but not as much as 12 week scan.

@EllieJai44 I had one at 7 and 11 weeks where baby had nice heartbeat and wasnt moving, had my nhs one at 12+6 and baby was wriggling around so much the sonographer struggled to do measurements. Think its normal if they are asleep on scans, dont worry, as long as you've seen a heartbeat!
I do think though, for my nhs one where baby was moving and stretching loads, I did rush in there because I was nearly late and I had a cup of cold water while I waited.... could of maybe woken baby up. Sonographer even commented how wide awake baby was. Could always try the cold water next time 😉

Mine just looked like a prawn at 8+2.... no movement but a nice strong heartbeat

With my first pregnancy I never saw movement in any of my five ( 😮) scans ( 6 weeks, 7 weeks , 10 weeks, 13 weeks and 21 weeks). I could feel baby kicking away like crazy throughout my pregnancy but apparently he was sleeping every scan.

With my current pregnancy baby was kicking and waving away at both the 10 week and 12 week scan 🤷‍♀️
