I’m 33 weeks pregnant.

For the past 3-4 weeks I’ve been getting a very sore vulva/ labia - the underneath bit, just on the left side. Felt kind of bruised almost? Can’t see or feel anything - no swelling, lumps, bumps or cuts. It’s not always there, sometimes just a bit uncomfortable, other times more severe. Sometimes a bit painful to move/walk.

Mentioned to GP (they’re only doing online/ calls at moment) and we agreed probably just the pressure building and extra weight down there. Had a consultant appointment a couple of weeks ago and she said the same, was talking about pelvic pain but I don’t think this is that.

It’s definitely got worse. Today it feels like almost a slicing pain, like someone taking a knife to it, the full ‘length’ front to back.

Does anyone have any clue what I’m talking about?

Fanny daggers.

I thought that was more like shooting pains? This is more constant/continuous although it is sharp like that I guess.

I get really sore down there during periods almost like its been scratched between my labia. Good coat of Sudocrem or Savlon often helps. Might provide relief while you wait for an appointment.

Isn't there some sort of varicose vein problem you can have on the labia?
Sounds grim op 💐

Sounds like varicose veins. I’ve heard you can get them during 3rd trimester. No idea what you do about them though!

Yes I read that too.

Boo, I get it bloody is :(
I’ll have to get DH to have a closer look, lucky him.

I could be completely wrong (obviously!) but sometimes herpes can present as pain before any blister type things appear and obviously it's important to rule that out/be aware of it in pregnancy. It's probably unlikely (maybe the increased blood flow has increased the size slightly and it's getting rubbed?) but just wanted you to know to check for normal skin etc. Hope it improves for you

Is it more like a sting pain rather than an ache? If so I used to get this each month when I was due on my period, used to itch/irritate a bit, wasnt anything bacterial etc. One time I thought I cut myself shaving but it was a very similar feeling to that. So i just put it down to hormones each month
