Growth Scan- Feeling so worried

I went to my routine 31 week midwife appointment Tuesday just gone and got told I was measuring 2 weeks bigger. I can’t understand how when I got measured only 4 days before that and was measuring spot on my dates. I’ve been referred for a growth scan on Monday to check amniotic fluid levels for polyhydramnios but I’m just worrying so much. This is my first baby and until now I’ve had such a smooth pregnancy with all my measurements working out on point. Baby’s heartbeat and movements have been great. I would just like to hear of others that have been through this just to get some reassurance really. Thanks x

There’s a chance baby has just moved or something.

I was first measured at 28 weeks, and baby was spot on for where she was meant to be, then when I was measured at 31 weeks, she'd shot up to well outside the guidelines - I think a similar thing to you, @NLW91, she was about 2 weeks ahead of their prediction. They were taking blood anyway that day, and did the test for gestational diabetes which I gather is one of the things that can cause baby to seem like it's ahead of where it's meant to be. I was negative for that, next appointment will be on Tuesday so I'm hoping the 'curve' is back to looking a bit more normal.

I’m glad I don’t seem like the only one who is confused by a sudden change in measurements. I’m guessing they will test me Monday for GD after scan is done. With a hope of things going back to normal on my next Midwife appointment in 3 weeks. I don’t feel like I’ve grown excessively at all. Unless baby had altered his position slightly which put emphasis on the bump

Everyone measures from a different place, so you can be measure 4 times in one day and all the measurements will be greatly different.
Don’t worry, the scan will give you a more accurate information
