Hey everyone, so first thing is first, this is a complete shock and surprise to me and OH. I POAS on a whim after not feeling right for a couple of weeks and it came back with the faintest positive. I re-tested repeatedly and still, the faint positives kept on coming. I then bled on and off for a few days - nothing major and definitely not like my usual period, however, clots were seen in the loo.
My doctor and the EPU advised I wait and test again in a week - which I've done - and I've got another two faint positives.
The docs Urinalysis came back neg, mine came back pos (CBED).
Asked the docs for bloods and keep being told to re-test with a HPT. I've spent a fortune!!
Has anyone experienced this and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy??
Don't want to get excited and see nothing at the scan in a few weeks time.
Emotions have been all over the place.

TIA.

Havent been though it my sled but could just be some implantation bleeding, although this is usualy light and doesnt happen over days, it could also be a chemical pregnancy

Thank you for your response. I thought it might have been a chemical pregnancy at first, but I waited the extra week like the midwife suggested and still the faint positive, it's been faint the whole time though. The waiting is a nightmare. I've been having mild cramps and twinges since the bleed - not during though - so I don't know if that's a good, bad or indifferent thing. I suppose I'll just need to wait and see.

I have another few weeks before my scan :/ nightmare!! Would just like to know for definite one way or another.

I think seen as you've had clots but are still getting faint lines you should phone the bleeding in early pregnancy unit as best case scenario the pregnancy is fine and you've had a bleed or worst case scenario it was a mc but not all has been passed and hence giving you faint lines still. I think you might need some bloods taken just to be safe. Is the line not getting any darker?

KatyNH · 11/06/2020 18:39

I called as soon as I started bleeding and they got back to me and said to monitor it as if it's a MC there's not much they can do and I had no pain - by the time I had a call back the bleeding had stopped and I was advised if it starts again, call them. It started again later on and I called straight back, received the same advice - possible MC or implantation and they just said to wait a week and re-test.
I had called the doctor also, she repeatedly told me to go buy more tests, however the midwife said not to take one there and then and just wait the week. Had my first antenatal appt over the phone due to the current situation and the midwife has said basically to wait until my scan or if I'm really worried, I can call them back if there's anymore bleeding or issues, but I've been fine since minus the cramps and twinges and bloody heartburn. Hoping it's just been a bleed and everything else is fine.

Sarahc336 also, no, they don't seem to be changing. Still faint. No idea what's going on.
Thanks your reply btw.

I’m sorry you’re having this worrying experience. In all honesty I would be really trying to get a scan at the EPU. It’s not really fair in my opinion that they’re letting you repeatedly buy tests and get positives and not consider how this could be affecting your mental health. It’s possible that you have miscarried but still have a little bit left that your body hasn’t dealt with properly. This would show on an internal scan. I would be calling back and saying your cramps are really unbearable and you need to be seen. I know you shouldn’t ever “work the system” but I honestly really feel for you and if you mention you’ve got pain in your side they’ll get you straight in for a scan. How many weeks would you be now? This alternatively could all be fine, the strength of a test doesn’t determine the success of a pregnancy but I’m more thinking for your peace of mind here.

Emvy sorry for the delayed reply. Work and home life have been hectic.
Holding out some hope as mild cramps, heartburn, some breast changes and bloating have now appeared since I last posted - fingers and toes are crossed!!
Have managed to pacify myself with the old saying 'what's for you won't go past you'. Well, that and my OH has been a gem!!
I agree! The whole idea of waiting for a scan to tell you 3-4 weeks later whether or not you've experienced a MC is definitely a worry when you take into account people's mental health and the stress/anxiety this could induce in people :( ...
I've decided to wait and try not to worry about anything. Hoping this works.

Hope you're well.

Emvy forgot to write this sorry, I should be around the 6 weeks now. Not 100% sure how this all works with the days - it was a long time ago I had DS.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd post an update now since I'm feeling a tad better.
I had a complete miscarriage, this was confirmed by ultrasound.

Thanks to all who commented.
