Bit of a pointless post but I'm sick of reading on websites that by 17 weeks (which is what I am) you might have gained 5-10 pounds, well I've gained 12 and even though I didn't exercise through the morning sickness phase I'm back to exercising now and generally eat ok, I have the odd chocolate biscuit here and there but generally I'm healthy Confused my body just seems to like to pile on the pounds in pregnancy as it happened last time. I know after I can just loose it all etc but it just seems even when I'm trying to be conscious my body still manages to put weight on, again a pointless ranty post but just need to hear some similar stories to make me feel better Smile
Oh and im already getting the wow your only 17 weeks you look at least 25 with that bump comments again like I got in my first pregnancy, I mean I'm only 5 foot 1 where do you want me to put this baby?? I guess that's a second rant but people commenting on your bump size annoys the life out of me Grin
Rant over and now I feel better ha ha xx

I'd gained what you'd gained by week 10 and I had a healthy pregnancy and baby. I'm 9 stone / size ten again now. Whatever you're reading that suggests 'x pounds by y weeks' I'd advise to stop reading it altogether as you'll only cause yourself unnecessary stress. Weight gain in pregnancy is healthy and natural. Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy Smile

I think it's all relative to your starting weight, I'm 15 weeks and haven't put on anything but then my starting BMI was 26 so I had a bit of excess weight anyway! It's also relative to any diet/lifestyle changes, I'm sure my lack of weight gain is because I've stopped drinking (I used to love a glass of wine!) so the calories I'm not having from that is balancing out what would usually be a gain.

How much did you gain last time?
Maybe the gain will slow down the more the pregnancy progresses.

I didn't weigh myself last time as I thought I'd be ok as and then I had my daughter and was like wow I've put weight on 😂😂 but like one of you said I know weight gain is normal and I'm just going to let my body do it's thing. I am naturally more on the petite side so maybe I do need to gain more, it's just more even though I feel I'm being sensible (I'm not counting calories or anything excessive, I don't do that anyway) I feel my body just does its own thing, but I guess it knows what it needs to do Smile thanks for the replies guys xx
