When does the need to wee slow down?

I'm 10+6 with my first baby and wondering if, and when, I'll need to stop going for a wee so much. It doesn't feel like an infection as I've had cystitis before and it's not burning or anything, it literally just feels like a normal wee. The difference being I need to go every 60-90 minutes and mostly at night. Obviously it's massively interrupting my sleep.
I did some research and apparently it calms down a bit after the uterus 'pops out' after the first trimester - has anyone had experience of this?

Soon! I had the same, just when I thought I couldn’t take it anymore it started to slow down and eventually returned close to normal, ie pre pregnancy state. Slow down happened around 12 weeks if I remember. I’m 20 weeks now and the urgency has pretty much gone and sometimes get a full night sleep, usually only one trip to the loo in the night. Good luck, you’re (hopefully) almost over it!

About 2 days after my babies were born and I'd peed out all the extra fluid I was retaining during pregnancy.

ItsMischerWavy · 09/06/2020 06:28

As soon as she was born lol. I was peeing constantly during the day for my entire pregnancy. 24 hours after she was born I was back to normal..... I remember being so excited 😂

After birth for me!

Try drinking lots in the morning / afternoon and not so much in the evening

CatWhisperer86 · 09/06/2020 08:37

Not until after I’d given birth on each one I’m sorry to say, due with this one on Sunday and am still peeing all the time :(

Whereland · 09/06/2020 08:38

A week or so after baby is born

Hodge85 · 09/06/2020 08:40

Ah I'm afraid once you hit the third trimester then it's even worse Sad I'm looking forward to having my original size bladder back once baby is here!

AudHvamm · 09/06/2020 08:43

Yep, it slowed right down for me after about 13/14 weeks. I’m 25 weeks now and loving sleeping through the night! I’ve only had to get up a couple of times in the last 10wks. Also got more staying power in the days. I’m expecting it will pick up again later on due to pressure on bladder. Hope something similar happens for you OP.

Lavenderpurple · 09/06/2020 08:44

Not for me yet. I’m 16 weeks. I don’t remember this with first pregnancy until about 33 weeks ish. It’s annoying.

BabyKnighty1 · 09/06/2020 08:54

Apparently in pregnancy you can have a bladder infection without the usual symptoms ie the burning. So may pay to get checked

WhatWouldPennyDo · 09/06/2020 08:56

Mine’s worse now I’m in the second trimester, sorry! At least 3 times a night.

Footle · 09/06/2020 09:24

My eldest is nearly 50...

Whiffle77 · 09/06/2020 10:41

I'm about 15 weeks and still going 3 times a night 😣 literally such a pain!! I'm a bit better in the day, but it wakes me up violently in the night and I have to go immediately. I've tried not drinking much in the evening but then I just feel rubbish as I always drink a lot! Luckily wfh so not getting up as early which helps with the tiredness, I'd be terrible if I was still up at 6am and doing lots of travelling!

tiredanddangerous · 09/06/2020 10:55

For me it calmed down a lot in the second trimester. Unfortunately the third was even worse than the first (I was peeing every hour through the night by 30 weeks)

Birdy1991 · 09/06/2020 10:57

Slows down in the second trimester and then by the third is far far worse, sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

2020Aug · 09/06/2020 12:01

I'm nearly 31 weeks and had it the whole pregnancy, it is much worse now especially when the baby pushes down!

toomuchteaandcake · 09/06/2020 12:45

Bad in 1st tri, okay in second tri, ridiculous in 3rd tri. Sorry!

Lola871 · 09/06/2020 12:56

Improved for me around 15 weeks I think, now 17+4 and fully expecting it to get worse again later on!

RestorationInsanity · 09/06/2020 14:30

Am nearly 15 weeks and it has got a lot better, get up once or maybe twice if I have a cup of tea too close to bed. Am waiting for third trimester for it worsen again as PPs have said!
