Pain when sneezing?

I’m only 4+4 but was just laying down and sneezed and it caused a really painful stabbing pain in my lower tummy, didn’t last for long but was really quite painful! Couple of cramps since then. Just having a little panic as had a MC in February so worried it’s done some damage. Has anyone had this before?

Could it be a hernia?

MinesALatte · 08/06/2020 06:20

No I don’t think it’s a hernia Confused

I hsd lots of stretching type pains in early pregnancy. I remember sneezing and feeling like I'd torn my stomach muscles a couple of times so was scared to sneeze for ages after that.
It was all fine and I'm now 30 weeks.

Google round ligament pain. It’s probably that. I’m 18 weeks now and still get it every time I sneeze, cough, roll over in bed...!

lockdownpregnancy · 08/06/2020 08:36

Currently 24 weeks and I had the sharp pains when sneezing and to be fair I still do!
Same if you cough too!
It sounds like your ligaments stretching OP.
If you're not bleeding I would say you're ok but if you become in serious pain then of course call your doctor.

Completely normal OP, I'm 33 weeks and had this all the way through 😊

I have exactly the same and have found I need to hold my stomach when I sneeze to ease the pain!

Ahh thank you all for the replies and reassurance! Crikey, I find it bonkers I’m only 4 weeks and getting such changes going on in there! Never had a problem sneezing laying down before haha Grin
Thank you all Smile x

I get this too! What I've had to do is find a more comfortable "position" to sneeze in. I suffer form allergies and hay fever, so I sneeze a lot!
If ever I feel a sneeze coming, I lean over and it seems to shield the muscles in that area from contracting when I sneeze.
Try different positions until you find one that stops sneezing hurting that area. 😊

MinesALatte · 08/06/2020 11:12

Same! I sneeze so much!

I curled up into a ball for the next sneeze haha Grin

What until you have to start bracing yourself when you sneeze so you don't pee yourself! That's always fun! 😂😂😂

😂😂😂😂 can’t wait 😐😂
