30 weeks EXTREME fatigue

Help please! I’ve read a few old posts about this already but not sure what to do.

I’m 30 weeks with my 2nd child and the fatigue I am experiencing is completely extreme. I know tiredness is normal but I’ve been unable to get out of bed today and walking from room to room and looking at daylight has been a struggle. I’ve been sleeping on and off all day but still feel like sleeping.

10 days ago I was given 280mg ferrous fumerate as my iron has come up low, I’m just hoping they haven’t quite kicked in yet, does anyone have experience of them starting to make you feel a bit better after a couple of weeks?

I don’t know how I can go on like this for the next 10 weeks - I have a 3.5 year old and a husband that works full time (I also work part time).

I’ve seen advice suggesting I should try to exercise Hmm which is a joke considering I’m out of breath walking down the stairs.

Any tips and success stories much appreciated!

Heya, I'm 34 weeks and has the exact same problem.

I'm on the same iron tablets as you and after a couple weeks I did feel better. I also walk the dog in the mornings, a 15-20 minute walk and it does seem to help get me going. I still crash and have low energy from around 3-4 o'clock but I think that's pregnancy rather than iron.

I know it seems hard to get up and out, trust me every morning I lie in bed like "I don't want to go I can't move my legs I'm so tired" but once I've done it I do feel better. Xx

Thanks @happygolucky6 I’ll try to push myself to go for a morning walk and see if that helps. I do seem to have the most energy (although not much!) when I first get up so maybe I’ll try to take advantage of that. Feel so sorry for my daughter missing out on nursery due to the pandemic but also a mum who can’t summon the energy to do anything while dad is working.

I'm 30+4 and also feeling completely wiped out. I've managed to get up and go for a walk both days this weekend to try to stay active, but then spent most the afternoon in bed napping and resting.
I've also started iron tablets earlier this week so hoping they'll help as well soon 🤞. I've got 8 weeks left at work which I think is going to be a struggle if I don't have more energy soon, fortunately working at home so can sleep in a bit! Sorry no tips but you aren't alone!
