Cramping, is it normal?

Hello, I had a scan yesterday and measured 6 weeks 1 day at the scan with a lovely little heartbeat. I'm getting period type pains, I have them most of the day and they settle when I go to bed. I have a son but I can't remember if I had this with him and it's worrying me as I had a miscarriage before my son 😔 thank you in advance xx

When I was 6 weeks I had terrible cramping, I took paracetamol because it was that bad. It lasted nearly a full day. I'm currently 39+1 weeks and all is well. I wish you luck x

Hi, I just wanted to reply after reading your question.
I'm 11 + 3 now.. but I've had 3 scans.. and after every scan I'm crampy. I feel like I've got period pains.. usually the day after, then it calms down.
I had a scan yesterday and I'm the same today. Mild cramps, feel like my ovaries have been squished.
So it may be that??
It could also be your stretching and making room. Try not to worry.
If it gets worse or you have bleeding then ring your midwife and ask for advice. 🙏🏻💓

Cramps at 6 weeks are so common, it's just everything stretching and the baby and placenta burrowing in nicely, I had cramps, sometimes quite bad, in both pregnancies up until around 10 weeks xx

Thank you @djmbaker @sarahc336 for replying! I haven't had as much cramping today and symptoms have seemed to settle too but I think they did at this stage with my son too then came back a few days later. I just worry as o had a loss before my son, thank you for the reassurance ladies! Xx

Yeah my symptoms in this pregnancy have seemed to have come and gone, I think it's quite common xx
