Did you have diarrhea before labour?

With DD1, 8 years ago, it was all quite straight forward - two days late, Chinese takeaway, started cramping, had diarrhea, weirdly my contractions were in the form of shooting pains up my bum, but they came stronger and more regularly, lost the plug about an hour after they started, baby born at 7am the next morning.

Am 39+5 with DD 2. For the past two days have had lots of pressure on undercarriage area and lower back.

Today, I've had crazy diarrhea all day (sorry if TMI) I've had those pains up my bum but not regular, tummy cramps and lower back ache but I dont feel like anythings getting stronger.

Has anybody had anything similar? Or if you had pre Labour diarrhea, how long was it before things really got going?

👋 hi. Yes, about 3-4 day's before I went into labour. Apparently it's your body cleaning itself out ready. 😁xX

Hi @JenNtonic
Awwww, 3/4 days! All day, I've been convincing myself it's going to happen tonight, I'm starting to think otherwise now as it just doesn't seem to be going anywhere

Yes, 1st baby, my waters broke, then I had diarrhoea, and contractions started, baby arrived 3 hours later. I thought it would mean I didn't poop when pushing, my husband tells me that wasn't the case Blush

Awwwww! Poor thing. It's so uncomfortable isn't it. Try a curry 🤷🏻‍♀️ worse case scenario.... you'll have a delicious curry lol xX

Is labour coming soon? I am currently 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I have heard that diarrhea is a sign that labour could start anywhere between 24-36 hours after. I wouldn’t say that I have diarrhea but I have had a loose stool (very loose, but not diarrhea loose). I’m just looking for a bit of clarity to see if anyone has had the same experience and labour started soon after? Thank you x

@Chickendinner5 hi, did labour come after your diarrhoea? The same thing is happening to me xx
