arcuate uterus

Hello,

I had a private scan and she told me I have a arcuate uterus, I'm 5 weeks and 5 days and the baby had a heartbeat we could see, she didn't seem overly concerned about the arcuate uterus but after some online searching I'm a bit worried, does anyone have the same thing and has had a healthy pregnancy?

Thanks

Hi. I have a partial septate uterus, slightly different. I wouldn’t worry at all about an arcuate (heart shaped) uterus - it doesn’t seem to cause any increased risks, if anything perhaps there may be a slightly higher chance of preterm birth but studies have shown no difference in live birth rate between normal uterus shape, and arcuate uterus shape. Arcuate shape is common.
Septate/partial septate and bicornuate/didelphys are different and there are some increased risks. It may be that your googling is turning up general information about unusual uterus shapes but not specific to arcuate.
Hope that helps! Congratulations :)

Hi Kelcat, can I ask how you are getting on?
I hope everything is going well for you.
I just got diagnosed with an arcuate uterus too, I’m not currently pregnant but I’m planning on trying again soon so would be interested to hear how you’re getting on. Thank you xx

I am currently searching for info on arcuate uterus. I have recently found out I have the same & I am 10 weeks pregnant. Feeling extremely anxious after having an ectopic in March. Can anyone share their story? I know this is an old post but there is very little info anywhere!
