Hair dye

Hi Ladies. I’m 10+2 with my first, and finding the whole thing very anxiety provoking. After months of lockdown, finally cracked today and dyed my hair. Usually would get it done at salon, but I’ve used this brand before so hoped would be ok. It looks fine, but I’ve since read on web lots of alarmist stuff about dying hair in the 1st trimester and how hormones cause allergies etc (I didn’t do an allergy test which was stupid of me, but as I say it’s a brand I’ve used before). This is a long winded way of saying - am I being ridiculous?! Or should I ring gp on Monday?

With everything I’ve read including nhs website, dying your hair should be fine, I have blue in my hair and have dyed it all through pregnancy with no issue (22+5 now).

The link says some women choose to wait until the 2nd trimester but doesn't say you have to

I dyed my hair throughout my pregnancy with no issues, from what I’ve read, you would have to soak in a tub of dye to absorb the amount of chemicals that would do harm. (Obvs paraphrasing, but the amounts you absorb though dying your hair is minimal)
Just make sure you rinse and shampoo well afterwards

Amazing thanks ladies - feeling much better for seeing these! Hopefully the odd dye will be fine then - will do a proper allergy test next time though to ease my anxiety about it. Crazy the stuff I’ve ended up stressing over - I guess it’s practice for parenthood?!
