Bleeding at 8 weeks

Hi, I am 8 weeks pregnant today. Last night I was hit quite hard by nausea, so didn't get up until about midday. When I did get up, there was a fair amount of blood on the bedspread. I went through and wiped and saw a fair amount of blood there too, not as much as a heavy period but definitely more than spotting. I called the midwife who told me to monitor how much blood I lose today and call them back tomorrow. Since then I have had no bleeding at all, but some minor cramping, which I have had a lot of thought out the pregnancy. I know no one can tell me, but has anyone had this experience and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy or is it definitely a miscarriage? I had a scan last Monday where I was able to see the heartbeat, I finally started to let myself get excited.

Thanks in advance.

I can't give you any advice but sending a virtual hug, I had some bleeding today I'm 14+6 I have to go to the hospital Monday for a scan. Take care of yourself xx

seebychloee · 06/06/2020 15:36

I would try and get another scan just for peace of mind. I hope all is okay xxx

Thanks, I am going to get a scan on Monday. I wouldn't have any hope at all except there hasn't been any bleeding at all since.
@Vikkiyoga hope the scan goes ok for you, it's going to be such a long wait until Monday xx

There are so many people on MN who have experienced bleeding and now have a healthy child so hold onto hope for now. Also having seen the heart beat really ups your odds of a good outcome. Good luck lovely. X

Thankyou sweetheart, I have been lightly bleeding all weekend but I'm holding on to the hope that baby is OK. I'm so so glad your scan went well. I have mine at 3pm, I am counting down the hours xx

@Belalice Sorry I didn't tell you yesterday, had a normal scan and an internal and baby sames to be doing really well. They have no idea why I was bleeding but gave me an anti-d injection and told to take it easy with no exersize or heavy lifting. Thanks for checking in X

I'm so glad you got the reassurance you needed :) just to let you know, I started bleeding at 8 weeks every single day until I was 14 weeks (I thought no periods were meant to be a perk of pregnancy!) I had multiple hospital visits where I passed large amounts of blood and clots. They couldn't tell me if my baby was going to survive or not and was told just to wait it out.

I'm now 25 weeks and have the most active baby ever wriggling around! Honestly they must have somewhere important to go because they are always on the move! Those issues feel like a lifetime ago. Remember to look after yourself, take some time out to relax and just know that it can get better :)

Take care
