Does anyone have any picture or experiences they would like to share with these after 30 weeks please? I really wanted to get one done as OH missed the 20 week scan with not being allowed in, but nowhere around me is doing them yet and I'm 29 weeks. I'm passing the best time to get one done and wondering if it will be worth it further down the line? TIA

Following - in exactly the same situation, hubby couldn’t come in to my 20 week scan so we’re thinking it might be nice to have another scan in the next few weeks so he can see baby once more before she’s here for real!

mable88 · 06/06/2020 11:08

And I’m 29 weeks too!

2020Aug · 06/06/2020 11:13

I tried to get one last week at 29+3 but baby was head down facing the back and with their arms over their face. No matter what I tried - cold water, sugar snack, a walk, they would not turn their face. Legs were kicking away but wouldn't move their face! I've been rebooked for next week to try again but I was wondering if I'd left it too late and baby has now settled in that position (no idea if that is the case but have just been wondering) or if they're just stubborn 😂. Hoping they might at least let us have a peek of their face next week!!

sel2223 · 06/06/2020 11:15

Hi OP, I'm in the same position, 30+2 today and nowhere around me is doing them!
I wasn't even that bothered about getting one until realising I absolutely couldn't 🙈

reginaphalange101 · 06/06/2020 11:25

I'm 29 weeks too and really wanted to book one in so DP can share some of the experience before she's born. A company called Window to The Womb are starting them back up on the 4th July but I don't know if there's any point shelling out the money if she'll be with us a month later.

Nelbert19 · 06/06/2020 11:32

I had one today at Ultrasound Direct in Cardiff - it was lovely to see him 🥰

I booked it because I’m 33 weeks and last midwife appointment measured my bump at 4 weeks ahead so I wanted reassurance there wasn’t an elephant in there!

My husband couldn’t come in, but they let me FaceTime him the whole way through

Thanks girls seems we're all in the same position! @2020Aug that's what my concern is as last midwife app she said baby was head down so I don't think we'll get to see much and it's money that can be used on baby things isn't it! I supposed weve only got appx 10 weeks ish each to wait!
That's a gorgeous pic @Nelbert19 ❤️🥰

And did they say it is in fact a baby elephant or are your measurements wrong @Nelbert19 😭🤣

I’m 32 weeks and gutted I’ve missed out now due to lockdown 😫 hope you get your scan x

Nelbert19 · 06/06/2020 12:12

He’s chunky, but not terrifyingly huge! Estimated to be about 8lb5 at 40 weeks

Babyclark20 · 06/06/2020 12:19

I have booked one for next weekend with Ultrasound Direct. It's classed as a growth scan but says does include 3/4D imaging if I've understood correctly. I'm not confident I'll get a good peak due to stage I'm at but wanted to check in on baby 😊

Jupiter15 · 06/06/2020 12:20

I had one at 24 weeks last pregnancy so my daughter could see baby. It was pretty rubbish TBH!

MrsJaneyp · 06/06/2020 12:22

We had a 4d scan done yesterday and we got some
Great pictures and videos too
I did it as a present for my husband as well because he had missed out on so many of the appts and scans

He loved it

MrsJaneyp · 06/06/2020 12:23

I was 33 and 6 days

BabyB19 · 06/06/2020 12:40

aww they're really good thank you @MrsJaneyp do you know what position baby is in?

OP posts:
MrsJaneyp · 06/06/2020 12:43

@BabyB19 so in every midwife appt or scam I've been in she has been head down. Yesterday she decided to do a full turn and she was feet down. She moves a lot
The lady that did the scan said if they are head down it's harder to get the pictures so we were pleased for
Once that she is a real wriggler

BabyB19 · 06/06/2020 12:46

That's so good she must have know it was picture time hahah! You've got an extrovert on your hands maybe! 🤣 @MrsJaneyp

MrsJaneyp · 06/06/2020 12:49

@BabyB19 absolutely!!!! I have an anterior placenta as well So she worries me with lack / reduced movements at time and as soon as I get to hospital she pops out and has a wriggle and a move for everyone to see.
Definitely likes the limelight.

Whereabouts are you

BabyB19 · 06/06/2020 12:54

I am on the Wirral, and have anterior placenta too. I don't know what I'm having so I'm wary of scans as exciting as they are I don't want to see anything I shouldn't and the baby has been breach all the way through until last few weeks so ive barely seems anything at previous scans due to butt being in the air waving its bits around 🤣 I think judging from the responses I might be too late for one. Thankfully not too long to wait now 🥰

Me again, I've managed to book a scan for Monday when I am 30+1 she warned me that with anterior placenta we are much less likely by this point to get a clear picture. Does anyone else have any 4D scan pics from 30+ weeks to share with me at all? I trying not to get my hopes up but I'm so hoping for a little squishy face 🥰

Hi OP, i posted further up thread that I was looking for somewhere doing scans too. I managed to find a place doing growth scans with the 3d/4d bit thrown in as a 'freebies so went yesterday at 31+1.
It was such a lovely experience and well worth every penny. I got some lovely images and movie clips despite my anterior placenta and baby having her hands infront of her face for most of the scan!
Good luck for Monday!

Aww thanks for the update @sel2223 a week earlier than you so 🤞🏼 I will get some too. I'm really trying not to get my hopes up but it's hard isn't it haha. We don't know the sex and not finding out so literally just want a little glimpse at the face of we are lucky xx

Love pictures as well btw x

sel2223 · 14/06/2020 11:11

@BabyB19 thank you. I went to baby bond / ultrasound direct and they checked before it started if I knew or wanted to know the sex.
The 3d/4d bit was face only x

sel2223 · 15/06/2020 20:10

@BabyB19 how did your scan go?
