Hi Ladies,

Im 38 and after 2 early miscarriages over the last year my GP suggested I get a private genetic testing done. I had to go private as NHS refuses to do further tests unless I have 3 miscarriages.

After the genetic testing, I was diagnosed with MTHFR homozygous, a gene mutation that could be a cause of blood clotting in pregnancy.

I am now 8 weeks pregnant again have been prescribed Fragmin injections daily. Have also been advised to take Active Folate supplements (instead of folic acid) and bump up on the Vitamin B.

Have anyone else here been diagnosed with MTHFR, and had a successful pregnancy? If so, did you do anything extra prenatal care wise? tia

Hey I know this is a old post. But I'm in the same boat and wanted to see how you got on with your pregnancy?
Please dont think I'm being nosey, but like your post above. I'm scared and could do with someone who has been in this position too xxx

I had another early miscarriage after the second one at 10 weeks! So three in a row. All the Nhs tests came back normal so I was asked to ‘keep trying’.

i fell pregnant the very next cycle and this time managed 41 weeks and a healthy baby boy!

I know it’s a cliche and I got very annoyed when people said ‘keep trying’ like it’s some magic- but it just happened to work. It’s a coin toss and luck for some!

What I did different the 4th time round (honestly I don’t know if it contributed)
i did an Ayurvedic detox and strict diet. (only for a month though as I got pregnant immediately)

I took seeking health supplements ( pricey!)
