Is this something to worry about during birth? TMI

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and last week I was relaxing on my sofa when suddenly I felt a sharp scratch when I moved and then felt wetness. I rushed up to the bathroom expecting some sort of discharge or mucus but instead found blood. Obviously started panicking but started to clean up and used a mirror to see where it was coming from and could see it wasn't coming from inside but what looks like a swollen vein on the outside. It bled quite a bit and dripped on the floor but after some cleaning, it stopped and it's healed up now but I can still see and feel the vein and feel it could do the same thing again.

I still have no idea what it is or if it will be an issue during birth. Is it something I should bring up to my midwife?

I'd speak to your midwife to get it checked out.

Could be a varicose vein? Check with your GP or midwife x

Sounds like a varicose vein around your vulva, similar to piles, caused by the pressure. They can get worse in labour while pushing would be the main concern.

Definitely raise it with your midwife. I had one and my GP reassured it wouldn't be a problem (it hadn't leaked before birth). So I didn't even mention to the midwife. GP was wrong, it popped as baby crowned and the midwife had to give an injection quickly to stop blood loss. I was oblivious to be honest but apparently I lost a pint of blood.
