Hello

I know this might not be everyone's favourite name, I'm just trying to choose a name that you don't hear everyday or listed in the top 10 baby girls name list!!

What do you ladies think of the name Josephine?

Middle name may have to be shorter I know

Thank you for your time Grin

Xxxxx

I like Josephine but just make sure you also like the name Jo. Even if you really dont want it to be shortened and try hard not to, inevitably her school friends will eventually shorten it to Jo.

Birdy1991 · 03/06/2020 18:09

I’m not sure about it but I think that’s because it’s my grandmas name, it’s unusual though! Also what are you thinking for the middle name? Xx

Aquamarine1029 · 03/06/2020 18:11

I've always liked it. I knew one who went by Josie which I think is a sweet nn.

WhatWouldPennyDo · 03/06/2020 18:31

I like Josephine, but dislike Jo or Josie, to which I expect people will shorten it.

Leighwalk · 03/06/2020 18:40

I like Josie, but prefer names with a NN.

My favourite, following watching Unorthodox, is Esther, NN Esty ( though I think I would spell it Esti).

Jupiter15 · 03/06/2020 18:48

Josephine is lovely. Josie as a nickname is also lovely.

WhatWouldPennyDo · 03/06/2020 18:49

@Leighwalk - “ST” (said es-tea) was slang for an STI at my crappy old comprehensive school! Esther is very pretty though, only ever met nice ones.

Britannah · 03/06/2020 18:50

I’ve only ever known one Josphine so you definitely don’t hear it everyday. She is known as Josie. Personally wouldn’t be my first choice but it’s a pretty name Smile

PregnantPorcupine · 03/06/2020 18:50

I like it Smile. Also like Josie as a shortened version.

Xiphisternum · 03/06/2020 19:01

Josephine nn Josie is in my top 3 if bump is a girl

Bettie2192 · 03/06/2020 19:23

Oh I love Josephine! But I would never want it to be shortened. A lot of people will though out of habit so you’d need to be ok with people calling her Jo or Josie.

mrs87 · 03/06/2020 19:40

I absolutely love Josephine but I'm not brave enough to use it! So I'm so glad someone else is! I think it's such a pretty name, uncommon but not unusual. Could be Jojo or Josie, and then she might want to be Jo once she is older. Making me want to use it now 😂

I knew a Josephina nickname Fina (pronounced Feena)
