This is a bad sign isn’t it?

Hi everyone.

Should be 6 weeks tomorrow going by LMP. Top photo shows last weeks test at 5wks, bottom one is this morning at 6 wks, both with FMU. Line has got a lot lighter since last week. CB digital this morning also showed 1-2 wks, rather than 2-3 or 3+ as hoped. Does this mean a MC is inevitable? Had some slight spotting but nothing too concerning. Still have sickness and tiredness symptoms.
Very worried...

This is a bad sign isn’t it?

I didnt want to read and run but I dont have a positive story for you unfortunately, I had this and it ended in miscarriage for me, so sorry :(

Thanks for responding. Would love to hear any positive stories where this has happened... don’t know what to do with myself at the moment.

Hey there. Not always a bad sign, google the hook effect. Sometimes when our hormones rise it can cause the pregnancy tests to play up! 💕

I was massively paranoid during my pregnancy, would take a test every day and got really upset when the lines got lighter (and then dark again) DS is now a lovely thriving toddler.

Don't do any more tests, distract yourself (if you can!) and hold fire for another couple of weeks. If you still have pregnancy symptoms, then it may well be fine. Sending positive vibes across the ether Flowers

Thanks all for your reassuring words. The hook effect sounds interesting. I am going to stop testing for at least a week and try and keep hopeful. Google full of so many conflicting stories I don’t know what to think...

Exact same thing happened to me. I got an early pregnancy scan and they couldn't find an embryo or heartbeat...just found the sac. Told me to come back a week later and all was well then. They were able to get the heartbeat. The dates were messed up....I have an irregular cycle so I obviously ovulated late. I was a week behind from the LMP in real because of my cycle. The first scan was way too early to show anything.

Unfortunately it's always ended badly for me x

Sorry to hear that @ivfgottostaypositive

Hi there, i had the same just before hitting 7 weeks. I read about the hook effect and did two new internet cheapies, one with normal urine (very faint positive) and one with urine diluted half with water and there was a very strong line with the diluted urine. I had a scan the next day and baby had a heartbeat. xxx

Eskdale2004 · 03/06/2020 15:54

This was my ‘hook effect’ taken during the eighth week.

The first test was taken with an undiluted pee sample, the second I diluted the sample with water. As you can see the diluted sample is much stronger.

This is a bad sign isn’t it?

Ok, so it could be the hook effect then. Will hold off until weekend and test with a diluted sample instead. So hard not to think the worst.
