Nope. Policy in our hospital was to leave it unless it’s significantly out- more than 2 weeks.

A day here or there makes no clinical difference so there’s no point moving it.

Depends how far gone you are. The NHS had me a week ahead of where I actually was (I only knew because I was using OPK's but they went off my last period) but this fixed itself at the 12 week scan. Then again they took a bit longer to adjust my friends due date, she was high risk and therefore having more scans and they moved her around week 16

See I was originally due 31/july. But On 20 week scan he was measuring big for everything. So they were suspicious if it was wrong but said they'd monitor. And when on paper I was supposed to be only 27 weeks he was weighing 3 and a half pound and more 99% on every measurement. .... so they clocked they have it wrong. And then when I was supposed to be 31 weeks he was 5pounds. And again more than 99% on every measurement. Off the scales. So they know they have it majorly wrong. And I’ve been told it’s probably a matter of a few weeks so this month in June instead of end of July.
Especially as I have been losing my show and I think I’ve been losing bits of water too. The pressure is quite bad too down there.

My midwife reckons instead of being 31+5 today that I'm minimum 35/36 weeks.

They use the 12 week scan to date as thats the most accurate time to date, after then babies can grow at different rates, most grow as they should, some grow slow and some grow fast!

Plus measurements they do off scans for weight isnt always accurate, they can be off by nearly 2 pounds!

My 12 week scan put me a week behind my LMP due date. They adjusted the due date to that taken from the scan even though my baby has measured a week ahead on every other scan to date. I still feel my actual due date is closer to the one dates from my lmp. My reasons being my periods have always been regular and all my children have the same day of birth (different months). My consultant isn’t having any of it and says the scan date is most accurate x

@wannabemummy123 I can see how that would be very stressing and put you in a position of the unknown. Couple of things to keep in mind, your little one will decide when they are ready to be born, if you naturally go into labour it will be because they are ready. If not the doctors won't push you to do anything they don't think is safe for you and you're child. They would have to be entirely sure they have had the dates wrong and therefore there will be no health issues.

Best thing is to prepare for a June baby make sure you have everything you need and then just relax.... if you are still working I'd have a conversation with your HR/Management as this may mean bringing your maternity forward.

Did you have a 12 week scan? How did that look?

BabyDancer · 03/06/2020 21:28

I had an early scan as I wasn't sure about when I got pregnant as I missed two periods before I got a BFP. I was given a due date of 5th November, but it was brought forward to 30th October at my 12 week scan.

Ginntoniconpause · 03/06/2020 22:58

With my first I'd worked out 1st August, based on when I ovulated and my LMP. At the 12 week scan I was given 3rd of August. It was later changed at 20 week scan to 1st August. However baby came earlier anyway!
With this one. I've been given a date later than what I'd worked out. I've convinced myself I'm due a few days earlier and they'll tell me that at the 20 week Grin as pp has said though, they come when they're ready.

My due date kept changing everytime I got scanned. Only by a couple of days a time though. Originally the 14th Jan I think, then earlier until it was the 9th January. He was a week late, born 16th Jan. that was a loooooong week!
