Evening primrose oil

Just over a month ago, prior to conception, my Dr told me to take Evening Primrose Oil as I was having breast pain (for about 3 months - definitely not pregnancy related!)
She said she’d call me in a month to see if it was alleviating my symptoms, which she did the other day - the day before I found out I was pregnant! She told me to continue taking it for the foreseeable.

I’m turning 4weeks tomorrow and have googled if it’s safe to take during pregnancy and have seen lots of mention of it helping bring on labour - something I obviously don’t want to do now! Does anyone know if it’s safe to take early pregnancy?

I did call my Dr today but she’s away so another one called me back and he said he had no idea and said ‘I’m sure it’ll be fine’ and said he couldn’t find any reference of it in any of his manuals or websites. I don’t want to rely on ‘I’m sure it’ll be fine’ so was wondering if anyone had any experience of a more concrete medical answer!
