Feeling shaky

I'm 28 weeks today and keep feeling shaky, dizzy and nauseous. The shaking got so bad earlier I had to stop cutting the salad because I was almost slicing my fingers off 😳 is this normal? I don't know if it's because baby is pressing on veins or something.

When was your iron level last checked? Have you been drinking enough water in this heat?

I used to get this sometimes when I was pregnant (which was admittedly many years ago). I found that if I ate something, particularly something sweet, then it often went away.

I think for me it was probably caused by a drop in blood sugar. I did have impaired glucose tolerance when pregnant with my youngest DD, but never got as far as being properly tested for gestational diabetes as DD decided to arrive five weeks early.

Mention it to your midwife.

My iron was last checked at booking appointment but it was higher than normal then so I don't know how likely it is to be low now.
I'm seeing the midwife on Friday and having bloods done again then (including glucose test) so will mention it then :)
