Anyone else due around NYE?

Hey ladies - hope you're all well.

I'd love to connect with some others who are due around NY and thought I'd start a new thread, as wasn't sure whether to join the December or January buses. It feels like so much happens each week!

We had an early scan due to our journey getting here (failed IVF cycle then spontaneously fell 2 months later) and I'm now almost 10 weeks, due 31 December (might change on our dating scan on 21 June).

We've not told many people yet and I have so many questions and anxiety (first time pregnancy), so would love to build a support network along the way :)

My EDD is currently 28th December...currently on the christmas babies, but something think it may end up being 2021!

We havent told anyone yet, we have had a MMC and two CP since September, so keeping it to ourselves until our 12 week scan, which is 15th June xx

Carabu1 · 02/06/2020 18:38

Me! I’m due nye, though expect that may change at saying scan, which is on the 22nd. I’m having a 10 week scan on Thursday though as I want husband to come and also to tell my family as it’s getting awkward to make up reasons not to see them now lock down is lifting (they live quite a drive away and I couldn’t go and not go in house to use loo etc). Mine is a fertility treatment baby, and also my first, after a long long wait, so I’m permanently terrified it’s going to go wrong!!! (If you’d like a bus I joined the January one :)

H8624 · 02/06/2020 18:49

I'm the 5th of jan so just a few days later!

Pjk1996 · 02/06/2020 19:01

I’m due the 28th of December! Very nervous as had a mmc at 11 weeks in August. Went for a private scan at 8 weeks and baby was all healthy and it was amazing to see, but still scared for the 12 week scan! Mine is the 17th of June

MahamChoudhury · 02/06/2020 19:04

My dating scan is on the 15th June and I am due around 28/30 Dec. Might change in the scan though.

I am really scared and always just praying that all is well in there. It's so hard not knowing how the pregnancy is progressing. I am one of the worriers.

MahamChoudhury · 02/06/2020 19:07

I was myself born around midnight of 31st Dec. Father not sure if it was exactly 12 or not so they officially noted my birthday on 1st Jan. Would be cool to share my birthday with the baby if it so happens.

amysmithdubai · 02/06/2020 19:48

It definitely helps to hear from you all and know I'm not going mad! Every twinge or cramp, I'm panicking. I've put myself on a google ban!

How's everyone been feeling? Anyone else struggling with the sickness?

@mahamchoudry it would be really cool to share your birthday with your baby. My nan had my mum on her birthday and of course said it was the best present ever :)

Also, how do the buses work? In the same way as these threads? I'm new to all of this so apologies for any stupid questions!

Hello Ladies, I'm due 1st Jan!
Currently 9+4
Had a scan at 7 weeks and saw a lovely heartbeat. Have dating scan on 18th June.

I'm just really worried because I've had no sickness at all. My boobs were sore but not too bad now and I'm tired and moody but I'm always tired and moody.

These first weeks are weird aren't they. How do I know I'm still pregnant!! I've had no bleeding or pain so trying to stay positive.

amysmithdubai · 03/06/2020 06:45

@passthemustard - these weeks are literally so weird!! I keep just wondering if the baby has vanished, but like you, haven't had any bleeding or pain over and above a mild cramp or twinge.

You are super lucky with the no sickness though! At one point last week I couldn't even keep water down.

Does anyone know if there's a way to turn on notifications on any mumsnet threads, or do you just manually look?

I’m 10+2 and my symptoms have lessened too! It is such a scary feeling however I had my booking appointment at 9 weeks and my midwife told me not to worry if symptoms faded at this stage as your body is getting used to the hormones so they aren’t as severe xx

Hannah9176 · 03/06/2020 07:19

I'm due Christmas Day! I've had bad ish sickness which seems to have calmed mostly now, although I was sick yesterday it was the first time in 8 days!

This is my second baby, have a 7 month old little girl too. Also starting to show already. Every time I read the threads of "can you have a bump at x weeks" I always think ITS JUST BLOAT!! But here I am almost 11 weeks, 4lb lighter than I started with a definite belly! Was a size 10 and pretty flat stomach before so it's definitely noticeable. My husband actually asked if they could have got the dates wrong 😂 as I didn't show until I was 22 weeks with my first! Dating scan next week on the 12th, hopefully there's just 1 in there!

amysmithdubai · 03/06/2020 07:57

congrats @Hannah9176, that's a lovely age gap I think. wow, imagine there are two!

I can't wait to start showing but no idea when that will be. i'm a size 12 most of the time but my stomach has always been my worst feature so I'm not sure when the wobbly bits will look more round 😂

@Pjk1996 that's good to know! I was also on x2 progesterone suppositories a day and I'm not sure if that would have contributed to any of the symptoms. I'm now down to 1 as they can tell the placenta is taking over, and from Monday I'll be off them completely, so hopefully I'll be feeling much better then. I used to look forward to every meal but it's such a chore now!

@amysmithdubai
No idea how to turn notifications on, I was wondering how to turn them off, I'm getting an email and a push notification every time lol. And I've got no clue about busses!

It's pretty crazy that you had IVF then fell naturally. You must be ecstatic? Congratulations. Thanks

It's nice to talk to people who are the same amount of pregnant.

I'm really worried that I'll get to my scan in two weeks and there won't be a heartbeat, I know everyone's sick of being sick but it must be reassuring. I'm sure I had sickness in my other pregnancies.

amysmithdubai · 03/06/2020 09:12

@passthemustard thanks so much, it has been a rollercoaster that's for sure. I'm keen to start enjoying the pregnancy as much as possible, but I don't think that'll be until after 21st. It all just feels so surreal.

I wish I could help reassure you but I know I'm just as anxious. My doctor did say that a strong early heartbeat is a very good sign though, and you had that at 7 weeks!

Another thing I read was how morning sickness tends to be worse with first pregnancies as your body is in less shock from all the hormones. How many other pregnancies have you had?

OP posts:
Hannah9176 · 03/06/2020 09:25

@passthemustard second pregnancy has really confirmed just how different every pregnancy can be!

My first pregnancy I had literally 0 symptoms. Maybe a bit tired but also struggling without caffeine. Tiny bit of nausea but nothing horrendous. No real food aversions/cravings, my boobs didn't hurt or grow (they barely grew at all throughout the entire pregnancy).

This time the sickness has floored me but the tiredness hasn't hit at all, never had any soreness with my boobs but they've defo grown. All the symptoms I didn't have first time!

They like to keep us on our toes 😂

MahamChoudhury · 03/06/2020 09:26

@amysmithdubai
Thanks a lot! It would be really nice to share our birthdays but in all honesty I am hell scared right now.

I am 9 weeks and I feel like I have no symptoms left. I never had morning sickness etc but used to have a bad heartburn, bloating and constant burping. It seems like everything is going. I even feel that my breasts have somehow reduced in size in the past week. Even the bloated belly seems like it's back to the normal size. I am just constantly googling stuff and that is making me crazier!

Katbaby · 03/06/2020 09:31

Hi Im due 29th December based on date given at 8 week scan! I'm currently on Christmas babies thread 😊 still puking every morning but symptoms definitely more manageable now. Can't wait til 16th June scan so can tell everyone!

passthemustard · 03/06/2020 09:59

@Hannah9176 your pregnancies sound wonderful! Other than the sickness this time.... which I’m sure will pass soon.

@MahamChoudhury I’m glad it’s not just me that is panicking. I mean think how lucky we’ll be to have had sickness free pregnancies .... try to stay positive.

My boobs were so so sore to start with up until 7.5 weeks when I thought morning sickness might appear but now my boobs are fine (maybe a little tender) and still no sickness. I usually go right off coffee but I’m still well up for my morning cuppa (decaf obvs) I’ll be devastated I think if it’s another MMC (had 3 mmc and a spontaneous) (but not recently)

@amysmithdubai this will be my 5th baby although it’s my 9th pregnancy but my youngest DD is 8 now so it feels like my first pregnancy again lol. My kids are 18,15,12 and 8. And I’m a geriatric mother haha.

amysmithdubai · 03/06/2020 11:34

@passthemustard wow, 5! I'd love a big family but I must admit, when my head has been down the toilet, I've wondered how all you women do it multiple times 😂 it must be cause it's so worth it! sorry to hear about your losses, no wonder you are feeling anxious. Was this baby planned or a lovely surprise? Have you told your older kids yet? Sorry for the all the questions, just fascinated 😊

passthemustard · 03/06/2020 13:35

@amysmithdubai
There's at least 3 years between them all so it's been fairly spread out to be honest. I don't know how people do it with 3 under 3s say, that seems crazy to me!

I was widowed a few years ago and now I've been lucky enough to find another partner who wants to be with me forever haha and he doesn't have any kids of his own and it's always been something he wanted (he was married for 20 years but his wife didn't want them) it did take him a good 18 months to convince me though!!

amysmithdubai · 03/06/2020 15:08

@passthemustard - oh wow, that's just amazing! He must be so excited too. Please keep us posted with your scan pic in a couple of weeks!
