I have an anterior placenta so not really felt movement apart from maybe the odd flutter.
Other than that I feel completely normal, my stomach is looking more rounded and harder but I just feel like I'm not pregnant 🙈 can someone ease my anxiety and tell me this is normal? Should I be experiencing any other symptoms?

TIA Smile

Yes, it's normal.
I have an anterior placenta and felt nothing till i was over 22 weeks (now 29+5).

After a horrendous first trimester, all my symptoms just disappeared and I didn't feel pregnant at all until I had my 20 week scan. Then it all kind of sunk in..

Now in the 3rd trimester and wishing I was back to those lovely symptom free days haha.

Shankairen · 02/06/2020 13:07

Don't worry unless you haven't felt movement at all and you're 24 weeks pregnant. At that point you should call the midwife. It should explain this in your Mama Academy pack. X

mumtobewithanxiety · 02/06/2020 13:11

Thank you.
I'm not worrying about movements as such just her, especially with my anterior placenta, it's just the general feeling of feeling normal but with a bump! I feel like I should be feeling aches and pains etc lol!? x

Hey, I’m 18 weeks + 5 days. I have a posterior placenta and have only felt a few very light flutters or taps that I would assume to be wind if I didn’t know I was pregnant. With an anterior placenta I imagine it would be even harder to feel anything.

Hopefulhen · 02/06/2020 13:20

But totally know what you mean about not feeling pregnant! The nausea is under control and I’m feeling a bit more energetic but no definite bump or kicks yet. I considered getting a private scan at 16 weeks for reassurance but the scan places are in inconvenient locations to me. I’ve been taking belly photos at regular intervals and keeping them in an album on my phone. When I feel anxious I look through them to reassure myself I’m growing!

Minkies13 · 02/06/2020 13:23

I'm 18 weeks today and also have an anterior placenta. Not felt anything either. I do have a little bump, but that seems to be my only 'symptom'. I had an anterior placenta with my last pregnancy too and didnt feel any movements until I was 20 weeks.

Alychloe · 02/06/2020 13:27

I have a posterior placenta and started getting flutters around week 19! I’m week 21 now and still not much of a bump! So I know what you mean! I didn’t “feel” pregnant - well apart from the severe morning sickness haha. It’ll all start happening soon :)

mumtobewithanxiety · 02/06/2020 14:09

Thank you everyone! I had a 16 week scan and all was well but it's hard to feel at ease when I feel normal! Xx

You're expecting aches and pains at 18 weeks?? You might feel like that at all, even at 40 weeks. I certainly didn't in my pregnancies.

I had anterior placenta both times and didn't feel movement til after 20weeks.

Good luck!

mumtobewithanxiety · 02/06/2020 14:20

@saylor hahaha I just feel like I should be feeling some symptoms but I know it's normal at this stage not to. I lost a baby at 21 weeks so I'm extra nervous about everything. I'll enjoy feeling normal then Grin

Nooo, don't expect stuff like that. I'm 27 weeks and I've had a symptom free pregnancy. Your baby is small you won't feel stuff like that yet a lot of the time. Just feel blessed you're not feeling stuff like that!

Shankairen · 02/06/2020 14:21

Don't panic yourself! Us mums with no symptoms are just lucky 😭 I'm appreciating this pregnancy as I bet next time I get pregnant it'll be awful just to pay me back haha

saylor · 02/06/2020 14:25

Oh @mumtobewithanxiety I'm so so sorry to hear about the baby you lost. I've been there, I lost our little boy well in to my pregnancy, giving birth to him was the worst day of my life.

I've since gone on to have 2 happy and healthy DC. I hope that gives you some comfort Thanks

mumtobewithanxiety · 02/06/2020 15:18

@Shankairen thank you, I feel much better after everyone's comments. Still hard to believe there's a baby inside of me even though I know there is haha. One week until my scan x

@saylor thankyou. Will be more relaxed after the main scan next week Smile x

I'm 18 weeks +5 and found this thread comforting. My bump hasn't grown for several weeks, in fact if anything I think it's gotten smaller.
I'm not worried about it 24/7 but I am finding it's putting a dampener of my pregnancy in general - just wish I could stop worrying. Obsessively counting down the days til my 20 week scan and hoping after then I can relax and enjoy it!

mumtobewithanxiety · 02/06/2020 16:35

@justtb how are you generally feeling? Do you feel normal? Have you got any symptoms? My bump looks smaller somedays than others! X

OP posts:
justtb · 02/06/2020 17:41

@mumtobewithanxiety I am feeling fine. I go several days without using the toilet but that seems to be my only symptom.. and the intense pressure when having a wee sometimes. I'm glad I'm not the only one with the changing bump!

BS9790 · 02/06/2020 22:01

I'm 18+3 with anterior placenta, I haven't felt any movements yet. I heard the heart beat last week, but the last few days I've been so uncomfortable and achey.
Ive had a previous MC, although it was early and it's deffo making me over anxious!

@justtb I feel like this too. I feel like I can't enjoy the pregnancy... I'm counting down the days to my scan too! I also have this pressure sometimes when going for a wee... Like in lower abdomen? Is yours the same?

mumtobewithanxiety · 02/06/2020 22:10

@BS9790 thanks for commenting. Apart from a hard bump with a pigmentation line forming I feel absolutely fine! Achey hips now and then but I feel more or less normal?! I know it's still early to feel movement but I literally just feel like I'm not pregnant! Even though I know I am, I had a scan two weeks ago baby was fine but it's this wait of the important scan and the anxiety around it all that's making me think is the baby ok! I don't know how to ease my worry Sad

OP posts:
justtb · 03/06/2020 20:47

@BS9790 yes that's exactly like mine

Birdy1991 · 03/06/2020 21:11

Make the most of not having a bump, it’ll come 😂 I didn’t have a bump at 18 weeks really, it started to show properly at about 21 weeks. I’m 32 weeks now and you can’t miss me with the size of me 🤣

Birdy1991 · 03/06/2020 21:13

Sorry that was in reply to your last reply where you said the bump was smaller sometimes than others. Symptoms normally go around 18 weeks and then new ones start towards the end of the second trimester. It’s normally to feel ‘normal’ and have more energy after the first trimester.

mumtobewithanxiety · 04/06/2020 08:49

@Birdy1991 thankyou! My scan is in four days so I'm extra nervous xx
