34+5 weeks & baby’s ready?

Hi 👋

I’ve seen the midwife today and my baby is estimating to be 6.3lb already at 34 week 5 days. The midwife said that her head is very low down and getting ready for labour. She was checking that I have my hospital bags packed etc and has booked me in for the 30th to see her but is not expecting to see me as she thinks I’ll have had baby already!
I was on strong high dose steroids at the beginning of this year and they said it can make baby pre term.
I have been loosing mucus plug and feel extremely heavy down below. Bump has also dropped too.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I haven’t experienced this personally but with my DS I was also told to expect an early birth too as he was so low down pretty early on. The midwife didn’t see the point of estimating the weight as she said it can be 1-2lbs out which makes a huge difference. However my little one was delivered late and I had to be induced so I would take all of this with a little pinch of salt. Things can change quite quickly. Wishing you a smooth and safe labour Flowers

My DD was fully engaged from 36 weeks.

She was evicted (induced) at 41 weeks.

My midwife said the same with my daughter, she was engaged and had lots of signs. She was 11 days late!! Xx

Ok! Thanks ladies! Maybe I won’t get my hopes up for her being here a little early then! I have a scan on Monday so we shall see what she says xx
