Can any of you lovely ladies give any in sights as to why they leave the growth scan until week 36 in pregnancy as to me it seems quite late to pick up on something if it's wrong, also how many of you have scans to check growth in between and what are the reasons behind these. Thank you.

I had a few scans in the 3rd trimester which was standard after attending hospital for reduced movements. At the scans they take the baby's measurements and they check the cord blood flow and water. If they found a problem they could bring you in for further monitoring or possibly decide you need to deliver early.

I had reduced movements at 24 weeks, they did a scan just to check on baby and he was measuring 4lbs

They then said he was quite big for gestation and was an ivf baby so dates were accurate, they did further scans at 30 weeks, 34 weeks, 36 weeks I was booked for a C-Section at 39 weeks due to size.

My baby was big at 10lb 1oz but I also had a ridiculous amount of water and baby was back to back to labour would of been tricky, they didn't pick any of that up on the scan.

Due to his size at 36 weeks they wanted me to meet with a consultant, just to keep an eye on thing. His size was likely why I had lots of reduced movements as he was squeezed quite tight in there

Thank you ladies. I've been in twice already for reduced movements (I'll be 29 weeks on Thursday) but haven't been offered a scan so does this differ depending on your hospitals way of doing things or should I chase it up?

I only had one at 38 weeks when there was a leap in bump measurements. Otherwise low risk, healthy pregnancy, just a change right at the end that needed checking out!
