12 week scan nerves

Hi, I just need a little reassurance really. I am due my 12 week scan on Thursday (I will be 12 + 4) I have had 3 mmc in the past and although I have already had 3 scans in this pregnancy and all been fine and seen and heard heartbeat I'm still so nervous. I have felt great for the last week, all symptoms have gone. I think that's what's worrying me. It will be my first baby. Has anyone else had the same and feel great?

Sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages. Scan anxiety and starting feel more normal around 12 weeks are both totally normal. I would just try to distract yourself as much as possible before Thursday. It's really not too long to wait now! Good luck!!

Don't worry about lack of pregnancy symptoms.
I only had a very faint feeling of feeling sick at 1-2 weeks pregnant then nothing until 16 weeks when my nipples were on fire for a week. Week. 22-38+3 until DS was born I had really bad heartburn.
Sorry for your previous losses. That's good you heard a heartbeat already Smile

No advice OP, just a handhold because I also have my scan on Thursday and I’m so nervous about it. My parents and in-laws are acting as though it’s just a formality to get out of the way so we can tell people, but I am terrified about a MMC. I have also had very few symptoms recently (and never had them very strongly anyway) and everything panics me.

Will be keeping fingers crossed that it’s good news for both of us on Thursday Flowers

Thank you all for your replies :)
I think sometimes you just need to talk to other who are in the same situation or have been through how you are feeling. Even though I have heard a heartbeat at 10 weeks, I am still so scared.
@zscaler please let me know how your scan goes :) what time is yours at? I'm 10.10am. X

I am exactly the same OP, mine is in 45 minutes and I feel sick. I have prepared myself for the worst already 😩

Mir1234 · 01/06/2020 09:30

@PocoyoandEllie good luck! Let me know how it goes 😊 it will all be fine ❤️

I was in the same position this time last week waiting for my scan at 12+3, it's really tough. I had multiple miscarriages and, although I'd had 2 scan this pregnancy at 7 and 10 weeks which showed everything was good, I was so nervous until the moment the scan image came up showing a little wriggly creature. What helped the most is telling myself that while there's a 2% chance something will be wrong, there's a 98% chance everything is okay. So I'm focusing on the 98% from now on Smile. Good luck with your scans everyone!

Scan went well thanks ❤️ 11+2 so quite an early one! Now just an anxious wait until 20 weeks!! Hope everyone’s go well x

Mir1234 · 01/06/2020 10:24

@PocoyoandEllie congratulations amazing news! So happy for you!

@MariaDingbat fab news for you too! How far are you now then? Sorry to hear about your mc's. Is this your first baby? Because of my past experiences I just worry about everything and overthink everything too. I am just really looking forward to telling people fingers crossed

Is anyone getting a private scan before 20 weeks?

My symptoms came and went with DD1 and I did start to worry at one point because they had been so severe one day and then completely gone the next. She was absolutely fine, and is a bouncy energetic 3 year old now. I think worrying is a perfectly normal part of early pregnancy, it seems such a long time between a positive test and when you can feel them moving (which is freaky, but sooooo comforting as you know they are just there and are fine)

MariaDingbat · 01/06/2020 10:44

@Mir1234 Thanks! I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and we've just told immediate family over the weekend, which was really lovely. I'm 40 so I think they'd given up hope of having grandchildren Smile.

It's my first so I have no idea what to expect, but my nausea and cramps have definitely eased up over the past week. I'm going to get a 16 week private scan as I don't think my nerves can wait another 2 months to make sure everything is okay.

Mir1234 · 01/06/2020 11:16

@MariaDingbat
I'm the same, I am 36 and I just can't wait to tell close friends and family

I haven't really felt sick since 8 weeks and over the last week I've had a few headaches but apart from that I feel great. Even breasts are not sore anymore, just feel bigger.

I'm just hoping it's all good news this time :) and yes I think I will get a scan at 16 weeks too as otherwise it's like waiting again from finding out! I feel like I have known I've been pregnant forever lol x
