Gaviscon, gaviscon and more gaviscon. You will find soon that you will be drinking it from the bottle. If that fails ask the GP for omeprazole.

Your bog standard indigestion remedies are fine - things like Rennies (or supermarket own brand equivalent) or Gaviscon (or supermarket own brand equivalent).

They basically contain chalk, which reacts with your stomach acid to produce carbon dioxide (which you burp out) and water. Nothing actually goes into your system.

Check the label - it will say "suitable for pregnant women" on it somewhere.

The supermarket ones are usually 1/3 of the price of branded and frequently contain the exact same ingredients, down to the milligram.

If they don't control your heartburn then nag your midwife for some omeprazole.

Sorry to hear this, i know how uncomfortable that can be! I was prescribed Gaviscon advance by my gp when i suffered bad heartburn when pregnant with ds1, though this wasn't until the later stages and when the stomach is tight for space! Might be worth calling your gp to see what they recommend, especially given you're still in the 1st trimester. Hope you can get some relief soon.

I took supermarket own brand indigestion tablets (fake rennie) pretty much every time I ate for my second pregnancy. I think the asda ones said pregnant women could take up to 8 a day.

Rennies chewable tablets worked for me! Couldn't stand the aftertaste of gaviscon, but then I did suffer from dysgeusia and severe sickness throughout, so that might have been my imagination!

It's not up high so not heartburn it's more like under my sternum below the ribs very acidy, like lava 😞 and like knawing Hunger pains it's keeping me awake. Is this normal so early ? X

Sounds like gastric reflux, similar to heartburn so general over the counter or supermarkets antacids should help, if not your gp will be able to get you something.
I've had it for aaaages now, the pain can be excruciating if you cant control it. I'm now on omeprazole daily along with peptac (like liquid gaviscon) throughout the day!
