Southampton Window to Womb

Has anyone here been to the Southampton branch of W2W in recent weeks? Did you take your partner with you? Their advice on whether partners can go is quite vague but don’t want to turn up with my husband if he can’t go in. (Around 20 weeks).

Thanks 😄

Also interested in this! I asked a similar question on another thread and it appears lots of partners are attending at other ones however when I enquired at Southampton a few weeks ago they said no partners?!

LexiM · 30/05/2020 22:45

@Clemmie83 the problem is they say ideally no partner but if you bring one to be from same household. It’s not clear to me whether that’s a yes or no then! Someone said they didn’t take their partner earlier this week but there were lots with partners in there!

I have emailed them now so will let you know!

Thanks, I'd love for my husband to be able to attend a scan with me!

Following this as I would love to know too! Heybaby was allowing 1 other person from your household but has recently changed it to if necessary! What is classed as 'necessary'?

BettyS89 · 30/05/2020 23:43

Ladies I went today to the Southampton window to the womb for a 12 week scan and took my husband with me it wasn't a problem and he sat next to me for the scan 🥰

LexiM · 30/05/2020 23:53

Thanks @BettyS89 that’s useful to know!

My point exactly @EBM20 what does necessary mean, it’s far too vague. Everyone’s idea of necessary is different!

@BettyS89 That's really good to know! Did you need to give a reason for him to attend?

duckling3 · 31/05/2020 06:43

I've went to hey baby a few weeks ago and partners were fine as long as they were from the same household. I phoned and asked them about the if necessary comment on their website because it was confusing but they just said it was fine to bring partners.

LexiM · 31/05/2020 08:38

I just had a response from Hey Baby and they have confirmed one person from same household. They said they recommend 2 weeks between scans with NHS one.

We went to Window in the Womb last week (in Manchester) and I took my husband with me. There were not problems at all with that and he loved the fact he could come! Good luck!

Katie1109 · 31/05/2020 09:19

I went to Southampton branch couple of weeks ago and my partner went in with me, no problem at all xx

BettyS89 · 31/05/2020 09:53

@Clemmie83 No I didn't have to give a reason we just turned up. Others were there with their partners (all social distancing from others of course). I did phone ahead and check partners were allowed before I booked

@clemmie83 I went to W2W today on a last minute appointment they said my husband could come with me, didn’t query anything when we got there. It was really easy and calm in there, only one other set of parents sat down the other end we were seen quickly and it was so lovely for my husband to see the baby.

@LexiM Ahhhh that's great news and so lovely that your husband got to see the baby! 🥰

EBM20 · 31/05/2020 17:53

Booked today and rang before I booked and they said they are allowing one other person in with you now 🥰
