Hi I was just wondering if anyone has given birth at 36 weeks if so what was your experience and did your baby have to stay in nicu ? As I'm at risk for early labour

I was 36+4, it was spontaneous and quite quick (I fully dilated in under an hour!). I did end up with a forceps delivery but it was absolutely fine and baby was out within minutes. No need for NICU just went to the transitional care ward as baby needed blood sugars monitoring and treatment for jaundice. I wouldn’t worry too much, 37 weeks is considered as term so at 36 weeks everything should hopefully be fine x

I had an EMCS due to placenta previa at 36 +1. Baby was absolutely fine and stayed with me apart from a few blood sugar monitoring tests which I couldn't attend as I was still hooked up to a catheter.

We also had to come back in for treatment for jaindice, which is pretty common with slightly early babies.

Have they given you steroids for the baby's lungs?

As the poster above said, 37 weeks is considered term, so you are really close and should be OK. X
