Lifting garden pots

I’m probably worrying over nothing but i did some gardening today and I carried a few full plant pots across the patio. I didn’t lift them very high or feel like I was carrying the weight in my core, it was mainly my arms and upper back. But do I need to be worried?

I've been hefting bags of compost around for most of my pregnancy, baby seems to have survived and now 22weeks. I think unless you have any pain/bleeding don't worry, but also if you feel you're overdoing it , don't do whatever it is!

Thank you that’s reassuring. I feel fine just tired so that’s the end of my gardening days lol

I was gardening and doing houser renovations which involved lifting and strenuous work right up until 41 weeks pregnant. The key is to listen to your body and don't push past any warning lights.

Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy!

Thank you, I feel like it was ok for a one-off but i think I’ll ask my husband to move the pots around next time. Bit out of breath afterwards!

I had a horse so was wheeling wheelbarrow and mucking out throughout pregnancy. The danger of lifting in pregnancy is due to the risk of you pulling a muscle and not to do with any risk to the baby.
