Feel so tired and worn out and bit coldy but really over being pregnant and want to meet him or her and just get on with it really.

Was going to try the long walk thing but can't be arsed, so tired and my hips ache.

Fresh pineapple - hmmm, could send DP out but don't fancy it, feel heartburny.

Don't like spicy curries. How hot does it have to be?

Could have sex, might try that. Do I have to have lots and is it better with regards to bringing on labour the more rampant it is?

Had clary sage bath last night - didn't do anything.
On the raspberry leaf tea and the tablets.

Nipple stimulation - not into that at the best of times, really don't want them touched even slightly right now.

What else is there?

didn't you go with castor oil with lottie ? From what I remember you raved about it !

bozza · 21/09/2007 12:22

oh thomcat you sound really fed up. TBH I think you would be best to just let nature take it's course and indulge yourself this weekend - lots of cuddling up with your big girls, and long baths with magazines. Then if it happens, it happens.

Peachy · 21/09/2007 12:23

I found a huge OD of raspberry leaf worked but I was overdue by a week and threatened with induction

the curry thing- has to be hot enough really to upset your system a bit, thats what gets you going apparently

Plan something else nice to do, that's bound to bring it on....

lulumama · 21/09/2007 12:23

it is the semen that helps ripen the cervix, and orgasm & nipple stim that help strenthen contractions.

i would just chill, TBH, if you are not in the frame of mind yet, then leave things be.

rest up, nurture yourself, lots of hot drinks, and cuddling up on the sofa with the DCs and fluffy blankets, and just 'be'

BTW, you have to eat something like 7 pineapples to get the enzyme effect to get things going

lulumama · 21/09/2007 12:24

so what i mean is doesn;t have to be hugely rampant (( oo -err )) you could even DIY it !

RGPargy · 21/09/2007 12:25

Yuk @ pineapples. That's devil's food!!!

I built DD's cot (and carried it upstairs#0 on the day I went into labour with her.

thomcat · 21/09/2007 12:33

Yeah, I did castor oil with both girls, but I'm not doing castor oil unless threatened with induction. Then I'm all for it.
Not in that much of a rush right now.

Have realised I am control freak. Hate this sitting around not knowing.
What if DP is at work when i go into labour? He'll be at least an hour away and I have to get that pool inflated and filled. Want it to happen this weekend, or next weekend.

Have tidied and sorted every cupboard in house. Suppose I could try and get up into the loft and start on that!

has any one even tried laxitives to start labour? i heard someone talking about it in the supermarket and just wondered if anyone else had tried it??

jamila169 · 28/09/2007 13:39

only trouble with any method of induction (cos that's what you're talking about DIY or not) is it only works if you're ready to pop anyway - so you can either enjoy the calm before the storm or put pressure on yourself by trying to control what you can't control, not a good idea when stress can delay labour!

Sleep as much as possible how i wish i had slept as much as i could before dd2 was born when it came to labour i hadn't slept for 3 days and i was exhausted by the time she was finally born i fell asleep within minites looking back if i could have slept i would have, makes the time go quicker and will help you with the birth and sleepless nights afterwards Good luck!!
