Hi, first time mum here,
I've just found out I'm pregnant 4+2 and I'm just having consistent spotting, it's never much and only really when I wipe, and it's like watery red/brown
Is this something I should be worried about, ive been doing pregnancy tests every day 😂 and they all keep coming back positive. But I've had the spotting for about a week now.
I haven't contacted my GP yet.
Just wanted to know if others have experienced this?

Hi, didn't want to read and run. Spotting can be really common in early pregnancy.
Has it got any worse? Do you have any pain?

Bee1710 · 02/06/2020 04:16

Hi. I'd think of it as pretty normal but better to inform your GP about it. All the best. Keep us updated :)

Thanks, it's slightly heavier today so I called my early pregnancy unit and they've basically just told me to wait and see, I'm not holding out hope 😢 but I suppose if it's meant to be it will be ok. It's just a bit disheartening you know? X

Hi! I'm currently 7+3 with my 3rd pregnancy (MC first, high risk 2nd). I started spotting the day I turned 6 weeks (on and off but some every day) my midwife told me to just keep an eye on it for a couple more days and if it carries on or gets worse to ring my EPU. Spotting in early pregnancy can be very common but very scary! If it carries on getting worse I would ring your EPU back.

Good luck! X

Mine was heavy enough that I assumed it was a period (and then had what myst have been another episode 4ish weeks later). I had no idea I was pregnant (we were trying but I wasn’t fretting as we conceived in month 1) so the 12 week scan became a 20 week scan.

Thanks ladies, I'll keep my fingers crossed. This is my first pregnancy so I'm totally clueless. I'll just hope for the best x

@jbetty I have been having some spotting as well. I am currently 5 weeks but mine is more light brown to color.

Is your spotting still the red/brown color? Are you having any pain at all?

As long as there is no blood clots and serious cramping, I don't see anything too wrong, especially if the spotting is light.

Easier said than done I know, but try not to stress too much!

Hi @jbetty, not much help but wanted to say hello & I’m in a similar position. I’m 5+3 today, had light brown discharge for a day or so before my positive (from about 3+4), which then progressed to light brown spotting and then red/watery flow but not as heavy as period (sorry if TMI). Spoke to my EPU at end of last week who said to wait and retest, so tomorrow is my test day. Like yourself I’m not holding out much hope 😒

This is my first pregnancy too so have absolutely no idea about any of this! Fingers crossed for us that things turn out ok! X

Thank you! I'm keeping positive, I've not had any bad cramps or pain or clots just the bleeding, it's now calmed down and hardly present. So I'm hoping for the best, I'm going to wait and retest next week. EPU said the same to me, just wait it out. That's all you can do I suppose x

Got a bfp at 13weeks, I didn't know I was pregnant as I got my period every 27 days for 3 months and negative pregnancy tests, it stopped when I reached 13 weeks though

Hello just seen this post as trying to get any info on IB. I have been spotting on and off for 5 days now a week before period is due. Just wondered what your IB was like and how long it lasted. Theres so much conflicting evidence on internet xxxx
