First trimester awful sickness

Hi All, it's my first time posting on here, I just needed somewhere safe to moan. I am 7+4 pregnant with my first, we lost one at 9 weeks at Christmas so have been worried, but the sickness this time I have is absolutely awful. Have been signed off and put on cyclizine as wasn't keeping anything in but it's not really working, it takes the edge off but I'm so sleepy all the time. Dr said they could prescribe me metaclopramine yesterday but only for 5 days and said it could give me spasms which makes me worry if it's okay to take for baby? I'm usually very active but have been bedbound almost since week 5, pretty sure my husband hates me saying I'm sick I'm hungry, all smells make me want to be sick, (including him) I just feel out of control. Has anyone tried the metaclopramine and had a good experience from it? A little concerned it can only be prescribed for 5 days though? Thank you so much in advance x

Hi @butterfly0701, I had awful sickness too. I was prescribed metoclopramide (is that the same thing?) and I was on it from about wk 7 to wk 13 with no side effects. It did amazing things for me x

No, my doctors just prescribed me metoclopramide straight away. They said if it didn’t work they’d give me something else but it worked perfectly for me- really took the edge off and although the sick feeling was still faintly there I wasn’t actually sick at all after starting x

Thank you so much, I have started them today so fingers crossed they work, would be lovely to have a little relief from the constant sickness xx
