Feeling Down

Hi! Is anyone else just feeling down and a bit bleurgh?! I'm 10+4 and I'm just having a rough time. Started being sick at 6 weeks and for the past 5(ish) weeks I've thrown up every night after 6pm at least twice. I can't stomach a meal and haven't eaten more than snacks in the last 5 weeks. I can keep fluids down but only just. I used to jog a lot and can't even pluck up the energy to walk to the end of my street - plus I feel constantly queasy. My boyfriend is a runner and comes back from his runs feeling refreshed and excited for dinner and I'm just sitting hugging the toilet bowl. I just got really emotional and annoyed that he gets to feel so rejuvenated and refreshed and have a lovely pizza for dinner and a beer and I just feel so sh*t. Anyone else like this? It's absolutely rough af.

Oh bless you!

The first trimester isn't easy! I was lucky and didn't have the sickness BUT I did feel nauseous 24/7 basically. It's really really crap. Just try to rest where you can, keep yourself hydrated and try having little snacks / meals rather than trying to eat a lot in one go.
I know you're looking at your boyfriend and wondering why he's coming back all refreshed and you feel like crap but remember you're growing a tiny little human!

It WILL get better. The second trimester is definitely the better one where you have more energy. Make sure you enjoy that before trimester 3 hits haha!

Hope you feel better soon, and just remember that this isn't forever! 💕

It might get better very soon. Have look and see how many panicked threads there are about symptoms dropping off after 10 weeks.

But yeah, it's rough. The first trimester is long and stressful and bleeeeh. I actually prefer the third to the first... if you ignore the final whale weeks Hmm

It is so depressing when you feel like that and just wondering how long you’ll feel rough. I do really recommend getting some cyclizine from the GP. I would even take half a tablet (full dose can be 3 tablets a day) and even that small amount would take the edge of and help me sleep at night x

Thank you everyone! It's so rough isn't it?! I really hope it starts to trail off soon - It's just like a depressing Ground Hog day every day 😂. I'll be a first time mum (if all goes well 🤞🏼) so I'm hoping the second and third trimesters are a dream compared to this?! 😂. Being a whale is fine as long as I'm not vomiting, tasting metal and hating all foods then it's ok by me!! Thank you girls 😊

@kidsareok - 3rd trimester is definitely not a dream. 2nd trimester was good. Increased energy and didn’t need the loo every 20 minutes and could move quickly. I’m 31 weeks and everything aches, can’t sleep and wake up with dead yet painful hands. Enjoy the middle bit honestly!! X

Yeah I agree 3rd trimester is tough too! 35 weeks and I'm hot, swollen, uncomfortable and tired. Up every 1-3 hours for the loo too 😂

Hope you feel better soon op! It doesn't last forever and we've all been through it! Also a FTM

Good luck! :)

Ha ahh thanks everyone! Yeah the third trimester looks tiring 😳 - I guess the whole thing is a big old slog but worth it 💖! I'm in a better mood today - when my OH was chomping on that pizza and slurping a beer I was just like 😡😡 haha but he has been great really and it's not his fault!! Like my mum keeps telling me - it's a tiny part of your life to go through for an amazing future. Hope the rest of you girls are ok! I am finding the heat quite intense at the moment so I feel for you being in the third trimester - sending love! X
