How often are babies actually born on their due date

Hiya,

Just curious... expecting my first and wondering how common it is for babies to be born on their due date? Due date is the same as my mum’s birthday so would love to know in reality how likely it is? What are your experiences? X

I've had 4 babies, 3rd and 4th both born on due dates, 2nd was one day late (8 and a half hours to be precise), 1st was induced 4 days early. I didn't realise how rare it was till years later, no internet in those days!

He was about to be delivered at 9.pm on his due date but last minute complications meant he finally entered the world at 3.am. so he was just 3 hours out!

My 2nd child DD arrived on due date and my 1st was 5 days early I've got 3 weeks to go for my 3rd and I'm expecting to go over as I never have

My first and only came on his due date, pretty sure he was waiting for it 00.30am contractions started, although he didn't arrive until the evening.

Due dates are mad, babies aren't trains! It's a month-long window really. First babies more likely to be later I think.

My first was born on his due date and second one was a day late. We joke that he didn't want to be born on Friday 13th and waited one more day which was Valentines Day.

I have 1ds he was born exactly 3 weeks before his due date.

My second dd was born on her due date

My fifth was born on her due date which was also her dads birthday and her grandfathers birthday, three generations on one day!

I have 4 - number one was born 3 hours before his due date. Number 2 - on her due date. Number 3&4 both late.

My first was 9 days early due to induction, my 3 girls were all a week late. My last was born on his due date.

I went into labour on my due date but gave birth nearly 20mins after midnight the next day. Why couldn't she have got her act together and just emerged on her due date?!

Chankybore. That's really interesting , my first was 8 days late, the second was 8 hours late.

I have 4, one a week before DD, 2 two weeks after DD and last one on DD
