Heyy, FTM I will be bottle feeding only (due to certain medications that I need to take so definitely can't BF).
I'm currently looking at bottles but not sure between the MAM bottles or the Tommee Tippee...any recommendations? Thanks :)

We used NUK and they are great, the only ones DD would take. I bought a massive box of tommee Tippee ones which I had to sell on.

Thanks :) I had also read about the NUK bottles. It's so difficult to make the decision especially when you will need them for when the baby is born lol

We used tommee tippie to start with for our little boy as they came in a bundle with a steriliser but they did leak down our little boys face a lot...we moved onto mam in the end and can't fault them xx

ilovepuggies · 27/05/2020 16:51

We moved from tommee tipee to dr brown as my first had severe reflux and helps with minimum air being taken in. Hopefully your baby won’t experience reflux or colic but if they do I highly recommend dr brown.

Mam every time. So handy when you're away from home and I haven't heard of a baby refusing them (lots of my friends with feeding problems used them) whereas I've heard of more problems with tomee tippee

Clemmie83 · 27/05/2020 16:57

I've been looking at Mam bottles too just for ease and not needing a steriliser. Does anyone know if they work with the Tommee tipee perfect prep machine??

BlessMeDarkFather · 27/05/2020 17:00

Mam bottles are amazing and I use with the perfect prep machine no problem 👍

EimB · 27/05/2020 17:04

Thanks so much everyone :) I am going to get the prep machine so great to hear you can use them with that. Anyone with the Mam bottles also have a sterliser or is totally not necessary especially if you are doing all bottle feeds? Thanks again

Can't speak from experience as also a FTM - but everyone of my friends/family I spoke to recommended Mam. So we have bought those and a perfect Prep.

Pegase · 27/05/2020 18:02

I used TT last time without problems and had the fussiest baby ever!

Mumtoone39 · 27/05/2020 18:11

With my first baby I had mam bottles, fine with perfect prep. I did have a steriliser- mam microwave one- second hand on eBay. I found it useful just to do a batch of bottles at a time, but you can self sterilise the man bottles individually.

Goldenmother · 27/05/2020 18:14

I've always used Dr browns bottle my 2 babies have never suffered with colic and I'm got them for my 3 arrival

Elephantonascooter · 27/05/2020 18:34

The mam bottles are microwave sterilising themselves.
We started off with tommie tippie which were shit. Moved onto mam and loved them. Will get mam again if we have another. Cannot fault them

Elephantonascooter · 27/05/2020 18:34

We also had a perfect prep by the way, great with mam bottles.

BlessMeDarkFather · 27/05/2020 18:40

I use a cold water steriliser with my mam bottles £10 for a Milton one of Amazon

starfish18 · 27/05/2020 18:42

Ye we couldn't fault the mam bottles and we use the mam dummies aswel...we used to sterilise ours in the tommee tippee steriliser but u can microwave sterilise them the same with the dummies it's fab...we had the prep machine but the health visitors weren't keen on them as they didn't think the hot shot of water was hot enough to kill bacteria in formula milk and me and my husband also found it made our little boy grumpy and grizzly and if we made his bottles with the kettle he was a different baby xx

Selfsettling3 · 27/05/2020 18:44

Tommee tippee bottles are awful. If you are bottle feeding full time then I would recommend getting a steriliser and not just use the microwave to sterilise individual MAM bottles as it less faffy and much quicker.

gonewiththerain · 27/05/2020 18:48

I used the mam dummies and bottles (and this has just reminded me to check my bottles and buy new bits as I’m pregnant). They sterilise themselves in the microwave, it’s so quick and easy. I bf but did use bottles at first as had to top up.
The microwave sterilising zip bags are really good as well.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 27/05/2020 19:13

The Avent Anti Colic bottles are great. They have this little green insert that guides the bubbles out of the teat so the baby swallows less air. I can 100% recommend.

Also, I have a steam steriliser. Would also recommend. Just load it up and press a button!

Another vote for MAM - best bottle and teat.

We tried tommy tippee and didn’t get on with that at all x
