Pregnancy further along than thought

Hi, I am 5 weeks pregnant based on my last period. What are the chances that the last period wasn't a period and I could be further along? I say this because the 2 weeks before my missed period i started getting exhausted doing routine things, like I'm a really active person but I couldn't even finished simple jobs that I would fly through before. Then I started feeling bloated, like my pants were very tight, had to unbutton it while driving. Then my appetite started to increase and I was waking up randomly during the night. I thought I might be sick but when my period didn't come then I straight away got a test and it was positive. Since then I am exhausted and hungry all of the time. Sometimes I'm even hungry while I'm eating. Every now and then I feel unwell and have to lie down, very dizzy and heart pounding in my head. I have my doctor's appointment next week and am waiting on the scan appointment. But is this normal for 5 weeks? Could I be further along? Could I have some other condition? Like I would be nervous about driving like this and fear that if I'm like this now, then I could end up bedridden for most of the pregnancy. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Hi OP. Without sounding horrendously rude you need to calm down. You clearly have some anxiety and need to try and clear your mind.
Symptoms at 5 weeks can vary drastically. Other than sore boobs I had absolutely nothing. On the other hand some of my friends and family members have looked like they are dying at 5 weeks pregnant they were so poorly!
You're totally fine to drive, unless you feel dizzy then of course don't drive, as that's clearly dangerous!
Have a chat with your doctor when you go about how you're feeling.
When you have your 12 week scan they will date your pregnancy. They put me a week further ahead than I thought so you never know.
If you want some reassurance a bit sooner then book yourself a private scan from 7 weeks onwards.
Hope you're ok 🥰🥰

With my first I thought I was 4/5 weeks but turned out to be 10 weeks. I thought I’d missed one period (that’s the only reason I tested - I literally had no other symptoms) but it turned out that my last ‘period’ was implantation bleeding. So technically I’d missed two.
You will probably be fine, have a chat with the doctor if you’re anxious.

Oh and with my second I had ALL the symptoms very very early on. Complete opposite. But was all okay. Good luck with everything Smile

Have you tried a test that gives you a dates estimate?

I'd say don't worry too much about the symptoms getting progressively worse - I'm at 11 weeks and almost feel normal at the mo, they come and go, but I was shocked by how strong they have been at times. Talk to your doctor, there may be things they can suggest to help. If you're worried about dates you can get a private scan, we're doing one and it is £70.

Also, make the most of lockdown and rest when you need to and make sure you're hydrated.

Thanks for the replies, they bring me hope! I suppose I would have expected to be like this in the third trimester just not in the first! It's just such a difference from being so active and then suddenly not being able to do small things. I just thought I would have more time, as it is making it difficult to hide the pregnancy. We wanted to wait a bit longer before telling everyone, but me being like this they will all know much sooner than planned.
